Urban Living's - The King Edward II Luxury Apartment in the heart of Windsor

After getting over our initial disappointment, we saw that the apartment was clean, comfortable and largely functional. It was modern/contemporary in its presentation and proved to be quite homely for a couple of weary travellers wanting a touch of home living. The kitchen was quite impressive for its cabinetry but our needs were simple - to make toast/have cereal, keep some essential basics, and to boil water. We can't comment on the stove or cooktop and the utensils provided to use them. The bed and pillows worked well for us and the linen was nice, the heating was perfectly satisfactory, the lounge comfortable and the "smart" television was a nice size. Having Netflix readily available was appreciated. The apartment was in a great suburban location with a straight walk to all the shops, restaurants, cafes and all the things you could want, a comfortable 5 to 10 minute walk away. Extending the walk a few extra minutes takes you to Windsor Castle and a few minutes more will take you to Windsor Riverside railway station for an easy day trip into London. The car park at the rear was very welcome and the small container of milk in the fridge was a nice touch.

Entering from the carpark was a little depressing with the landing at the rear door unkept, the floor tiles down the narrow corridor looking like they hadn't been cleaned for years (partly due to the deliberate "dirty" pattern of the tile as it transpired) and then entering the apartment to find windows were a little lower than natural ground level facing pathways to the carpark, meaning blinds had to remain down for privacy. It felt like a gloomy and discomforting end to our British tour staying at luxury hotels. Unfortunately, we suffered a failure of the water heater for a day but a call the apartment manager helped to create a working solution, and the internet was unreliable and very frustrating/disappointing for my wife who wanted to watch a Netflix show but found it struggling to load leaving long periods of an effectively blank screen. One night she gave up on all hope of a movie restarting. Another oversight was that there was nowhere to hang wet towels, such as a hook or hooks on the bathroom door and the bathroom sink was so tiny there was no chance of storing anything on or under it. A coat rack at the door would have been useful, especially after walking in rain.

Location was good - we were there to attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle so were very glad to have accommodation close to the event.

When we arrived (rather wet from the main Coronation events in central London) we were extremely disappointed to find that there was no hot water for showers - eventually found how to boost the hot water. We were also disappointed to find there was no milk to make tea/coffee on arrival.

Didn't realisefrom description it was a lower ground flat although it wasn't a problem as windows were to back of complex into carpark.Only noise when people were arriving into back door from carpsrk, which fortunately wasn't late at night. Flat a little crowded for size , a smaller coffee table would have helped and maybe a smaller lamp and not an extra comfy chair.

This apartment had all the necessary amenities. Bedroom was nice as well as the kitchen. Nespresso was just a brilliant added touch. Much appreciated. Pretty well maintained, with good lighting around the apartment. Decent location with just right walking distance to Windsor castle and its high street. Lovely neighborhood. Felt fairly safe.

We were placed on the lower basement room, just a bit stuffy and low rent at time. If you come by car the building itself is quite hard to spot and the entrance to the parking lot is small so take care there. We were provided with only 2 set of towels while there were 3 of us. We couldn’t find the 3rd set despite being informed that they were on the sofa/bed.
