Lovely self-catering apartment in city centre

Great location with everything you could possibly need in the apartment. Private parking too.

Couldn’t find fault

Very comfortable flat containing everything needed. Additionally there were eggs, bread and butter in the fridge as well as coffee, tea bags and milk portions. There was also an enclosed driveway to park my car securely.

I was quite confused by the mortice key which didn't seem to fit the front door but there was also a yale lock and a security chain so it didn't feel insecure

The location was excellent, centrally located in Dumfries with room for private parking at no cost. The beds were comfortable, windows easy to open and drapes thick to keep out early morning light in summer. Nice big table in living room area for eating and laptops.

The address was obscured by a new gate which did not have a house number on it. We were not told of this ahead of time as our host had not responded to our message of the day before our arrival. The property listing referred to street parking with a permit that would be found in the flat. This was no longer the case due to the new gate, which gave us private parking on site. We spent a fait bit of time trying to find the address. Also the apartment has a stale and somewhat musty smell, which unfortunately triggered my asthma.

It was in walking distance for where we needed to be, the sofa becoming a bed was good aswell as providing a blanket

We did not like the cleanliness of the bathroom as the toilet wasn’t flushed leaving a poo at the bottom and spit all over the sink, and the drain being full of someone else hair, the bed had stained bed sheets with pet hair! Nearly no dishes had been washed properly, and considering the amount of nut products in the cupboard and nut hand soap this is extremely dangerous for someone with a severe nut allergy like myself, so because of this we had to reclean all utensils and pots before I could use or touch anything, because of this we left our dishes as it had been clear we payed for a cleaner that wasn’t cleaning, the bathroom light also was flickering too much so we had to keep the door open and put a lamp on the outside! There was a weird smell in the house which added to the feeling of not being clean, This was not a nice stay! Wouldn’t recommend being there for anything other than 1 night sleep as you leave feeling unclean
