Red Gables - Ground Floor

Location.

Where to start. There is NO info on arrival - normal stuff, like how to work the heating, where the bins were for the flat, what the WiFi password was etc. The only info is a large printed sign inside the front door, reminding you of check-out time. Bulbs needing replacing. Bedroom door doesn’t close. Bathroom door doesn’t close OR lock. The floor lamp pictured in the living room is broken and dumped in bedroom, complete with fittings hanging out and covered in dust. The TV barely works and is unwatchable, constantly pixelated. Contrary to description on booking.com: There were NO bathrobes, NO hairdryer, washing machine but NO clothes rack to dry clothes (ridiculous). NO wardrobe or closet. Front of kitchen cupboards dirty. Oven trays, grill tray, oven and grill ALL dirty so did not use any of them. Cups filthy with stains. Freezer compartment in fridge was disgusting. The flat needs a proper clean throughout. It is obviously just getting a quick once over, as the dust, dirt and debris can be seen all around the edges of the rooms and on surfaces and inside drawers. Drawers in bedroom and kitchen all had various junk in them, including a sanitary product from a previous occupant. We go to Carlisle each November for a Christmas shopping trip, plus a little summer break. This was the worst Carlisle accommodation ever. On our first night, I hunted on-line for somewhere else to stay for the next 2 nights, but there was nowhere suitable available. I have attached some pictures for your enjoyment. I can only add 4 pictures but will be sending all pics with my complaint.

The accommodation was fantastic and felt cosy.

Some of the switches are hard to locate.

Location is great. Very easy to walk to city centre

Tv signal wasn’t the best. It was cold upon arriving. I presume because it was empty before we arrived

Designated Parking space often not available and exceedingly narrow for an SUV

The property was clean and kitchen and bathroom were quite modern and bed was comfortable

Bedroom and living room furnishings need to be brought upto date as the kitchen and bathroom are

Everything was fine

The use of a kitchen, good parking. There was a very comfortable bed and there was plenty of room.

Just that it was a bit far from amenities, but otherwise a perfect place to stay.
