The Loft at Strathardle - Lochside Apartment, Isle of Skye

Fantastic hosts and great welcome pack. The little touches were on point, and the accommodation was clean and spacious.

The kitchen facilities were lacking, we like to cook when self catering and misunderstood there was no combination microwave oven, and to be honest, an air fryer would have sufficed. There was no soundproofing in the property, and we could hear the owners walking around below and making a cup of tea, which made us conscious we could be heard. Lastly, WiFi is available, but not enough to stream.. There was no satellite or ariel, so there was no way to watch a bit of TV. This information was not available when booking and can therefore be seen as misleading. Carys advised us that WiFi was poor when checking us in, leading us to believe the hosts were aware WiFi strength is an issue with guests. This is one of 6 stays on our Scotland trip, yet this was the only one that couldn't meet the above. I don't want to be seen as complaining as not everyone looks for what we want, as demonstrated in previous comments, however, if you want the same things as we do, we found the property lacking in the above areas.

Amazing view from every window of this large loft, (loch, Cuillin mountains, baby sheep playing with each other). so quiet and pastoral. The owners are friendly, generous, responsive and respectful.

Cary’s thought about everything. Loved the little snacks she provided. Apartment was very spacious and complete.

Cosy self-contained accommodation in an ideal natural setting. The view and lambs were a highlight. Carys was friendly and helpful. The ‘goodie basket’ was a nice touch.

No laundry facility. Taller people need to mind their heads. 😀

Carys made us fell right at home with all the little touches provided like the breakfast staples, movies, games, toiletries. The loft was a welcoming space to come back to after a full day of exploring. The property is beautiful and peaceful with scenic walks to the ocean. We would come back in a heart beat!

The Loft is so comfortable and we were made to feel incredibly welcome and at home by Carys. The views from the Loft are unbeatable and inside the rooms have everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

Everything we needed was supplied and the snack box was a treat. The setting was unforgettable and we loved the wildlife. They were perfect host’s, very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.
