Castle Base

The location is fabulous!!--steps from the #16 and #216 bus. And for a night time stroll you are literally at the base of the castle. The Buda side was a preferable place to stay--much quieter and more of a neighborhood feel. You're not too far from a grocery store (downhill; remember you have to walk up with a bag of groceries!) The kitchen is small and adequate. It comes with a kettle for hot water, a microwave and a toaster. Also, first time using an induction cooker--this one is a bit sensitive and once I got the hang of it really enjoyed it. Also, Adam (host) is responsive, kind and helpful.

The unit doesn't have air conditioning. The week we were there the temps in Budapest stayed around high 70s and low 80s and so was bearable. With warmer temperatures, it could be a bit challenging. One window in the bathroom and a door to the outside terrace is the only source of fresh air. The room does have a rotating fan.

I was in permanent contact with the owner and he was waiting for me in the building. He is a nice guy who speaks good English. The room/studio is in an amazing location - just 200 meters from the Fisherman's Towers, 7-8 minutes from the banks of the Danube river, from Battyani metro station and a very good supermarket next to it.

Unfortunately, the picture shown in Bookings does not represents correctly the property. The room with a small bathroom and toilet is in fact located in the basement of the building. A door leads out to a courtyard, which practically cannot be used to avoid making noise to the neighbour upstairs. Worst of all is the horrible smell of mold that probably comes from the sewer and there is no way to escape from it. In two days my clothes were impregnated with this smell. There was also mold in one of the room ceiling corners.

location is just a few minutes walk from fisherman’s bastion which is superb. also the place is nice and comfy

the bathroom has a humid/moldy smell after using the shower. terrace is also non-smoking

Compact apartment with kitchenette, warm in the cold weather, great location. We liked the little patio but didn’t use it as it was cold outside. Host met us on time and explained everything- we were pretty much out all day as we were exploring - but when we came back, it was warm and quiet. Cafes and restaurants nearby, literally at the foot of the castle. The bus stopped right outside and we found the location great for us, it’s on the quieter Buda side of the city, which suited us perfectly

Location is great, good connection with bus line 16, right at the castle base as it says, space is very clean, it has everything, the little patio was very nice to have meals. Church is close but you cant hear the bells from the inside, very quiet surroundings

Pillows were very uncomfortable, we woke up with aches throughout the night and in the morning. Thats forgivable of course, but id recommend to bring your own pillow.
