The Old English Rooms

We had a delightful Christmas week in Falmouth staying in this spacious, comfortable, well appointed apartment. It’s very quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes walk from the charming town heart (take your pick of the steps of Jacob’s Ladder or the steps to Well Lane). Even the beach was just a fifteen minute walk away (we joined the local madness of the Christmas Day swim). We ummed and aaaghed about booking a place with a view but chose comfort with the English Rooms instead - so glad we did: this accommodation is sublime and in any event there are views aplenty whenever you are out and about. We are well travelled and cannot recommend this place highly enough.

A beautifully decorated, furnished and clean flat. Felt homely and comfortable and the hosts had thought about everything. Had a lovely weekend despite the weather.

Everything was excellent

Very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. All needs met and more. Easy access. Lots of character.

The property was fabulous. The attention to detail was incredible, ability to recycle, planet friendly toiletries and washing up things. An extremely comprehensive book of how to work things, what’s on in Falmouth. All in all it was a perfect stay.

The windows were a tad draughty, however it’s a listed building so a small price to pay.

Very comfortable.Quirky interesting conversion from a school room to appartment ,excellently done and beautiful decor.Warm under floor heating just right for our Autumn trip. Good lighting every where.,including the stairs.Well equiped. with great open plan living space down stairs.3 toilets.Very comfortable beds.TV easy to use.good wifi.Lovely hosts with lots of information,clear instruction etc.Would definetely recommend.

Very steep steps (called Jacobs ladder) to get quickly to central town by foot,which not great if your older.But to be fair they have hand rails and there are alternative stairs and roads to take.The views are worth it too..Falmouth is not easy to drive around with narrow streets and hilly with fast local traffic.Walking is a little challenging for same reason and uneven stone,narrow pavement.But all this is worth it because Falmouth is beautiful.Friendly inclusive place with plenty to see and do.Will be returning soon.My only small,quibble with appartment is light coloured furnishing is a worry with kids and teenagers etc.Also I would have liked a full length mirror some where but really not that big a deal.

the rooms were all very lovely

A whow factor when you walk in. Feels like your at home straight away. Very well-equipped. Scones and cream a lovely Cornish welcome touch. Reasonable walking distance from town and beach. Local pub as well. Excellent parking.
