Abbey on Main - Unique heritage listed property overlooking the Huon River

Gavin was very welcoming and friendly. We appreciated the dinner recommendations (the Thai was delicious) and the breakfast supplies were well received, as were the chocolates!

so roomy! bedrooms were great size as was the bathroom. comfy lounge. host supplied a few breakfast items which was unexpected but very welcome. welcome chocolates were a lovely touch. loved everything. river was just over the road with walking trail.

Absolutely beautiful house. Particularly noticed how effective the heating was, but also the towels were the most fluffy towels I've ever encountered. Everything was very comfortable, didn't lack anything.

The only thing we had issues with was the description of the downstairs 'bathroom' facilities made it seem like there would be a shower etc on the ground floor, but there was only a toilet. The photos and description also did not make it clear that there are steps into the kitchen and then into the bathroom (toilet) - this was a bit of a challenge for my grandma. Perhaps partly on me for not messaging the hosts to ask, but I would recommend making it really explicit.

The extra touches and breakfast items prepared in advance which we were not expecting. You just park the car and walk everywhere. Gavin the host was excellent.We will definitely be returning.

This home is amazing and the photos do not do it justice as this has to be seen to be fully appreciated. The character was everywhere and we felt incredibly lucky to have the pleasure of staying here. The fresh bread (real) milk and extra touches were much appreciated. The garden and deck area were so pleasant to just sit and relax. We could have lived there for weeks as there was all you could need to settle right in! Osteria is a must for dinner and the Thai was equally beautiful. We lunched at the nearby winery (home hill) which was also enjoyable. Plenty to do either side of Franklin for day trips over three or four days easily. Cygnet is just gorgeous! The Longely International Hotel is also close by with an excellent atmosphere about 25 mins away. Thanks Gavin and Wendy x

Awesome relaxing atmosphere. Everything you need is catered for. Great location to attractions in the area. Ĥighly recommend Abbey on Main.

Stairs a little steep and slippery when wet. Shower downstairs would be good.

There was plenty of room to move around and the attention to detail was evident everywhere. The conversion of an old building into a modern facility without impacting the character of the building was impressive. The communication and service was excellent.
