Schwarzwald-Chalet Feldberg

We went as a couple and stayed for 2 nights. The apartment has a lot of room, a lot of light, and was very clean. We had everything we needed but unfortunately not everything was able to be used. The hosts were very nice and even got us Konus cards for travel, which was very thoughtful. There is a sauna (but only available from 4pm-8pm), work out room, and a small room to relax. It was near a lot of walking trails as well as the Badeparadies, which was why we picked this location. It was very quiet and relatively secluded.

Unfortunately the room always smelt like burnt peanut butter. We aired out the room many times but it always came back. The view was nice, but only if you were sitting down and looking out the window. Down the mountain there is a small area for shopping and another hotel near a main road, so it’s not super nice to look at. I think it’s just good to know before going. But when sitting, the view is the same as in the pictures and very beautiful. The large window doesn’t have any way of closing blinds or having privacy. The glass door to the terrace also doesn’t have anything for privacy. At night especially we felt very exposed. There are smart TVs but the one in the living room is outdated and doesn’t function as a smart TV. The one in the bedroom is fine though. There are knives for prepping food but they are not sharp and very hard to use for chopping.

Nice location to ski in Feldberg (just 10 mins away by bus or car), Supermarket and restaurants close by. Apartments are big, clean and fully equipped

The location of the challet was great for exploring nature and nearby places as well. There was enough parking in front of facility and it was fairly easy to find the house off the main road.

For a longer stay it would have been great to get a cleaning and fresh towels after a couple of days. Besides our unit was on a ground floor and a bit less accessible, especially with the suitcases. I would recommend getting a unit with a terrace, because it will significantly improve your experience. In addition it was not clear how to use the sauna, as there is a special key for it and we didn't find it.

I LOVED everything about this place. First, the family is very nice and provided excellent communication. They will arrange for your Konus Card which gives you free train and bus service in the Black Forest. I didn’t have a car so this was a big plus. Next, the chalet location in Feldberg-Barental is great. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the train and bus stop. There is plenty of great hiking and biking in that area. Just make sure you tell the bus driver or watch for the train stop for BARENTAL. Finally, the apartment was absolutely PERFECT! I had unit #1 and it had a balcony with an amazing view of the Black Forest. The place was clean , comfortable and cozy with a well-equipped kitchen. There is a grocery store about a 10 minute walk away so that made it convenient. The bedroom is completely separate from the living room with a comfortable bed and pillow. I highly recommend staying here! Communication, location, convenient, clean and comfortable…this spot has it all!

Wrong information by host re distances from Feldberg and Bärental railway stations

Good location for those who look for a secluded silent place close to various trails in the southern schwarzwald. The two bedrooms apartment has two bedrooms!

The two bedrooms apartment is on the upper third floor, and the roof slope causes inconvenience in significant parts of the apartment. Without preliminary notice, the host lady woke us up at 8 o'clock on Sunday morning by knocking on the door to get a deposit.

Spacious clean two bedroom apartment with good kitchen facilities, close to supermarket and 5 minutes walk to train station and restaurants. Loved the welcome beer and small breakfast items in the fridge. Great view from the balcony over the forest and views all the way to Titisee.

Patchy wifi, really only reliable from the back bedroom, which was a little bit annoying. Would recommend getting a wifi extender.

The room we stayed in was really big and especially neatly decorated. The kitchen contained plenty utilities for cooking (pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, etc.). The owners were very friendly and even left us a small welcome basket :)
