Ocean and Mountain View Condo - Free Reserved Parking

There wasn’t anything special about it.

It was DIRTY. My son crawled on the floor for 5 minutes and his hands and knees were black. I dropped something under the bathroom counter and almost threw up after feeling the pile of dirt under there. There was mold in all of the bathtubs so instead of giving my one year old a bath, he had to bathe in the kitchen sink for the whole vacation. There are only AC units in each bedroom so when you arrive it feels like you’re still outside. And even with the AC units on, they barely cool off the bedroom unless you leave it running for hours. The entire rest of the condo was still 80 degrees all the time. They expect the guests to wash dishes, which isn’t an issue for me, but the dishes were gross so they’re not checking behind anyone.

It’s in a walking distance to everything.

The bedroom carpets are old, worn out and sticky. Needs to install new carpet. The bathrooms are dirty.

Location, 3 bed and 3 bath. Quick response.

Loud street noise. Cabinets were greasy. Make sure to hit the lock button on the door when you leave. We thought it locked automatically. Also had to use the default code because ours didn't work.

The location was nice, away from the congestion of Waikiki Beach. Restaurants and the beach were a short walk. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom. It was in a nice, safe area. We always new we had a place to park if we left the area.

There was only a fan in the main living area, no air conditioner, so it was stuffy. The unit is an older unit as is the whole building. The parking is not onsite, it was a couple blocks away from the unit. We had trouble finding the place as the address was wrong and when asking other businesses where Ocean and Mountain View Condo was they never heard of the place. Once we were given the correct address we found it and the building name is Big Surf.

Loved that each bedroom had a bathroom attached. Worked out prefect for 3 sets of mom and daughter we had in our group. The location is prefect. You can walk to beach, restaurant and shopping. Plus there is an ABC store on the corner for any item you may have forgotten. Plus, the easiest check out ever!

There was only one set of towels per person (6).

It was clean, the complex felt safe (although wouldn’t recommend walking alone, especially at night), the beds were comfortable and it was nice that each bedroom had their own bathroom. The owners were very nice and pleasant to work with, there was plenty of kitchen supplies and even extras like books, sunscreen, towels etc.

My biggest complaint is that the listing is misleading, as are the pictures. We booked this condo because it stated it had an ocean view. But this is NOT an Ocean View Condo. Well, I guess if you pretzel yourself off the balcony in just the right way, you might get a glimpse of the marina. Not by ANY means is it Ocean View. We were very disappointed by that. Being on a busy road like Ala Moana Blvd, it’s always noisy, but a white noise app on the phone helps with that. Also the parking is a little annoying. You can pull up into the entry level to unload, but then you have to park the car about 2 blocks away. So an easy in and out evening is not as easy as it could be.

The 3 bedrooms with insuite bathrooms worked out great. Kitchen was well equipped though we didn't do any cooking, just used the microwave.

Offsite parking was a challenge as we had a disabled person who could not walk far. We had to drop him off, go park the car and do the reverse when we left the condo.
