UOGASHI 7070 Ocean View

Great location. Close to port and chichu museum. Clean and comfortable beds. Upstairs balcony overlooking the water fantastic. Owner/staff was very helpful. Use Google translate to communicate. She also gave us lift to port and picked us up. It’s only 10 minutes walk though.

No WiFi in room.

Comfortable good western bed. By a beach. Strong shower. Door frames high enough to avoid hitting my head for once! Luggage transfer from the port. Naoshima island is well worth staying on for 2 nights.

Tiny room. The roof terrace isn’t very nice. Basically, you have a large portakabin building divided into four overly small units, designed to maximise revenue not user experience. Not noise insulated - you could hear next door talking. The breakfast was white bread and jam so we passed on it. Incredibly expensive for what it is - we are in Japan for 5 weeks staying in nice places and of all this was by far the worst value for money. I am a generous scorer and if it was less than half the price I would have given 8/10 or 9/10 not 6/10.

A lovely lady met us at the dock and drove us to the property and then drove us around the island so we could see the arts sites. We did not expect this and it was an amazing thing for them to do. It made it feel really special.

Breakfast a tad basic. We went to 7-11 and topped up with juice and yoghurt.

It has a roof top, staff will pick and drop to ferry.

Very out of the way, but staff helped us book a taxi to pick us up. Was here for Triennial and the price was through the roof!

הבעלים לא יודעים אנגלית והקשר רק באמצעות גוגל טרסלייט. לא סייעו להבנת המקום והתחבורה הפנימית. בבוקר - פרוסת לחם אחת וריבה. במחיר ששלמנו, אפשר היה לתת תמורה טובה יותר.

L'établissement est présenté comme des appartements en location, mais ce n'est pas le cas. Il y a des chambres avec terrasse vue mer qui sont modernes et confortables mais un peu justes au niveau dimension ET une salle commune avec cuisine professionnelle à disposition des locataires. Si on fait ses courses, il y a tout pour faire la cuisine. Il y a aussi des services inclus comme le petit déjeuner ainsi que le transport entre le port et l'établissement. Si on le demande, on peut se faire aider pour des locations de vélos ou des réservations de restaurant. Attention, les personnes ne parlent que japonais. On est juste en bord de mer et il ne faut que 15mn à pied pour être au centre du village.

Le petit déjeuner proposé est minimal, mais on a un frigo commun pour y stocker son petit déjeuner.

host communicated with us prior to arrival to find out our arrival time so that they could pick us up. After checking in and leaving our bags there, as we arrived before check in time, the host took us to a bike rental place and we were lucky to get the last two bikes left unreserved. Bags were in our room when we arrived back in our room later on in the afternoon. Upon departure, they also dropped our bags off at the port as we didn't have time to walk back to the property after returning our rental bikes. Everything worked out very smoothly.

wifi in the ocean front room didn't work but we managed.

The wi/fi in the accommodation is very poor, although t is ok in the breakfast room

On the ocean and near the town. Need a bike or car to get around. Very clean and staff was super nice and helpful; even picked us up at the ferry.

Needs some artwork inside. Very stark. Breakfast needs fresh fruit, real coffee, better food. Also some landscaping would really help. Just very stark and not pleasant to look at.
