Old Fisherman's Cottage

Unassuming from the outside, but don't be deceived the cottage has plenty of space and a garden room, keeping it light. Has everything needed, comfy chairs, well stocked kitchen with all appliances, very comfortable bed (just watch your head as the ceiling slopes on one side), and a good shower. Lovely sea theme to the decor. Couldn't fault the position within a few hundred yards of the ferry, sea front, Co-op, Bute Yard and cafes. Handy for the rest of the island too.Julie (owner) made several recommendations for places to eat/drink and they were spot on.

No designated parking, but was not an issue as we always found somewhere on the streets close by without any problem... we had planned to use buses to both ends of the island in order to walk back, but they were very infrequent to the northern end. Possibly better in high summer.

Couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. The host was very informative and helpful, the place itself was excellent in every aspect and we didn’t want to leave. Need we say more?

The location, amenities and little touches like a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge, board games and hot water bottles were really appreciated.

Fantastic little cottage. Warm, comfortable, hot shower, comfy bed with quality bedding. Great little kitchen. Lots of thoughtful extras, complimentary tea, coffee & milk plus a box of Tunnocks teacakes! Nice toiletries, towels, hairdryer & straighteners available to use. The cottage is in a central location, easy walk to Bute Yard, local cafes, shops and pubs. Overnight parking on street but longer term parking nearby.

The property was perfect for what I needed; it had a fully equipped kitchen, a place to sit and work, an area to relax and a lovely bedroom and en-suite.

WiFi wasn’t great when I got there but the owners sorted that straight away. The property gets very cold over night so if you need to get up early it’s very cold - not sure if the heating could be set to a minimum temperature rather than timer?
