We loved staying at this apartment. We were two old friends traveling together and really appreciated two well appointed comfortable rooms in an empire period building with high ceilings and 2 balconies. It also boasted 1.5 bathrooms and a washing machine, great for the mid trip laundry. Max and Alice were terrific hosts available for questions and provided a pdf with great recommendations for dining etc. The location in ortigia was next to so many churches and piazzas as well as the sea of you felt like a dip! Highly recommend.

Could be a little bustley on the street but calmed down by 11. It’s to be expected when so well located.

Property was extremely central and in a typical historic building with all the features representative of city redone by several civilizations. Extremely charming. The space was large and as advertised in terms of the layout. The beds were fine. Endless restaurants in the alleyways nearby. The island of Ortigia was magnificent. Lots to explore.

The building and the courtyard are not well maintained. It is obvious that there are several parts in disrepair however, this was seen in many parts of Ortigia Island in general. During the night, we were disturbed by several things, one being the water heater that would go on if someone used the toilet or the sink and would last for quite some time. The garbage trucks and the street sweepers also caused quite a lot of noise. Although it is not predictable, the construction right outside, our building was particularly loud and started at 7 AM after being disturbed several times during the night. The quality of the bathroom was very average and dated but not in an historic sense. In particular the shower sprayed everywhere and is not an actual shower, but only a handheld fixture. There was also loud squeaking while showering coming from shower-head. There was water leaking from somewhere on the floor in the second small washroom, where the laundry was and we did not use the laundry. No coffee maker, except for a tiny Bialetti. No special luxuries like slippers or soap or any shampoo or conditioner so bring your own.
