Casa Mary Family Apartment

Casa Mary Family Apartment was a great value alternative to the high costs of staying in Amalfi or central Sorrento. While driving through the area can be a bit hectic, the apartment’s tucked-away location offered the perfect peaceful escape. Comfortable, well-equipped, and ideally placed for exploring the region while still being able to relax away from the crowds.

We had a wonderful experience with an exceptional family! Mrs. Mary welcomed us with cold lemonade made from lemons from her own garden, fresh eggs from her hens, oranges and lemons at will, limoncello, pasta, tomato sauce, olive oil, salt, pepper, and spices – the kitchen was fully equipped. The garden is a peaceful and refreshing oasis, a true little paradise. It’s true that the location is quite far from the city; we climbed the famous stairs twice, which were quite challenging, but we adjusted to the bus schedule to make getting to the accommodation easier. We do regret missing the beautiful evenings and lively atmosphere in Sorrento, but discovering this wonderful place more than made up for it. We recommend this place for those who prefer a quiet, picturesque spot, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Wonderful view of Sorrento and the bay below. Staying under the lemon and olive trees. Annachiara was so helpful booking boat trips to Amalfi coast and Capri. She even dropped and picked us up at the marina.

Beautiful little studio apartment nestled amongst olive and lemon groves in the hills above Sorrento. It's a peaceful oasis from the crowds and noise. As a fairly fit couple in our late 20s, we had no problem walking up and down from the flat, and only took the bus once. It's a steep but pretty climb up a winding staircase - for us, it took about 25 minutes to walk down into town and about half an hour to walk up, although it's slightly tough on the knees! Annachiara was warm and welcoming, even making a reservation for us at a nearby restaurant (definitely eat at Lo Stuzzichino and try the Delizia al Limone!). The info pack provided everything we needed to know.

Nothing! If you like being in the heart of town and want to be able to catch very early buses and ferries, this wouldn't be the best location for you.

Extremely spacious and peaceful. Has a great view from the window of Sorrento which wasn’t photographed when we booked so it was a great surprise!

The walk back up from the Sorrento is extremely steep as this property is located at the top of the hill. Would recommend taking the bus especially with luggage.

This place is in a hillside location, a little haven away from the hustle & bustle of Sorrento but close enough to walk into town. This will take approximately 25 mins downhill but don't attempt to walk back, catch the local bus at a cost of 1.5 Euro. The property is high up and even for an active person the walk back would be a stiff challenge. Annachiara is your point of contact throughout the trip and she is just fabulous. Anything we wanted to know she provided the answer even arranging a dental appointment for me with an English speaking dentist as developed toothache. The place is clean and Annachiaras parents live in the attached property & sometimes provided us with fresh Lemons, Oranges & eggs from their Hens. This place was an absolute find. My wife & I loved it.

There was nothing to dislike about the property but do catch a bus back from Sorrento as the taxis are expensive. We hired a metered taxi on 1st day and cost 50 Euro. Clearly this is not the fault of anyone but thought worth pointing out why using the local bus is a winner. Last bus back is at 8pm.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the apartment. The garden was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento - as delightful as that was.
