El 55 Sayulita Stylish couple getaway rooftop pool

We loved the cute boho-style apartment in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. The space was very spacious, functional, and beautifully designed with an aesthetic touch that made our stay feel extra special. We really appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided, including a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, toaster, and a clean water dispenser for cooking and drinking. The air-conditioning was excellent, with multiple mini-split units—one in the shared space and another in the bedroom—which made a huge difference given the heat and humidity in May. The staff came in daily to clean, and every time we returned the apartment was spotless, neatly organized, and well taken care of. The location was also perfect—just a short walk to the main beach and close to other nearby beaches, which made it easy to carry our things without any hassle. They even provided beach umbrellas and chairs, which saved us money since we didn’t have to rent them at the beach. We had seen in previous reviews that, because of its very centralized and convenient location, the area can sometimes get noisy at night. Our bedroom was located toward the back of the building, so we did still experience some of that outside noise. That said, it wasn’t peak season during our stay, and it didn’t significantly affect our experience. One thoughtful detail we really appreciated was that earplugs were provided bedside. To us, this was a lovely touch and showed that the hosts pay attention to guest feedback and genuinely try to make sure guests are comfortable and well taken care of. Overall, it was a comfortable, convenient, and beautiful place to stay, and we would definitely come back again.

One thing we wished had been slightly different was the pool area, specifically the rooftop lighting. The sign indicated that the pool was available until 10 p.m., but since we visited in May, it was already quite dark by around 7:30–8:00 p.m. My husband and I were looking forward to enjoying the space after dinner, but without much lighting it felt a bit too dark to comfortably use at that time. It’s possible we may have missed some lighting options, so this might just be something we overlooked. It would be a lovely addition if there were some ambient lighting—such as fairy lights or soft rooftop lighting—to make the space more usable and inviting in the evenings.

Property was very clean. Bety, who was very pleasant, did a great job of keeping it clean. Location was central, although can be noisy at night. We loved the hammock and the outside kitchen.

The location was fantastic just off the main street and 1 block from the beach. Perfect location to be able to walk everywhere! We had read that it was loud but we loved the city sounds, the music usually ended by 10 and the earplugs were perfect for the street noise. The place was clean and very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we loved the outside patio. There was fresh water provided which was very appreciated. The little extra touch of the bottle of tequila (with salt and lime), sodas, beer, and cookies in the fridge upon our arrival was so sweet and appreciated!! We loved the rooftop pool and loungers, no one was ever there so it was like it was private. We also really appreciated the available beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and beach towels, we used them everyday when we went to the beach. Overall the place was excellent, I'd highly recommend it, it's one of the nicer places we've stayed. If I ever make it back there, I'd definitely stay there again! Thank you for the wonderful stay!!

Nothing!! Except we did wish there was a broom/dust pan available to sweep up the beach sand that we couldn't help but bring home :-)

The property was wonderful. Close to everything but far too close to the main outdoor stage. The noise was unbearable and we actually felt the base from the stage. Ear plugs, zen music and pillows over our ears were not enough, and they play until 2 to 4 AM every night. Unfortunate, as everything else was wonderful. We will not return or recommend this property for this reason only.

1. Location - close to everything, but still somehow not too loud at night to sleep 2. Amenities - loved the 5 gallon water jug dispenser with hot and cold options, bathrobes, espresso machine (I brought my own pods though), beach accessories (cooler, chair, umbrella, surfboards, speaker, towels), loved the jetted rooftop pool which I actually thought I wouldn't use, but it was great for post-beach cocktails. 3. Cleanliness - everything was clean and well kept, the cleaning service replenished anything needed everyday except Sunday 4. Prompt service and response - there was an issue with 1 air conditioner (which we hadn't noticed yet) and they came and fixed everything promptly and were quick to respond to questions. *Photos shared are the views from the rooftop pool*

1. Closet storage - there's no "typical" closet and it was difficult to store long dresses and a few other hanging items, but that is more of a personal preference.

Centrally located apartment. Rooftop pool was fabulous for relaxing with great views over Sayulita town and beach. Outdoor kitchen and eating area was great! Contemporary design with comfortable bed and bedding. All great!

There is a not insignificant amount of noise from the street below. If you are a light sleeper, you may need to use the ear plugs provided by the hosts.
