Location is supreme. Amazing terrace overlooking the village square.

Air conditioning was essentially nonexistent. Very hot weather and unbearable to sleep. Falsely advertised as air conditioned. They offered us a fan instead.

The Terrace to Rule all Terraces. Right in heart of lovely Taormina just a few paces from start of the main pedestrian street lined with all manner of gift shops/ high end fashion boutiques/ fabulous restaurants etc. ok there’s a bit of noise but surprised from other comments that folks are surprised by this as it’s the heart of the action location that makes this place so wonderful. Excellent facilities - we like to cook and brilliant aray of utensils to allow this. Throw in one of the best local supermarkets and fruit and veg guy literally at your door and whilst not quite Michelin staresque in our part we mostly had our evening meal on the terrace watching the sunset on Etna. Simply Sublime. There’s a taxi rank close by. We just used the local bus service to get around and could recommend the hop on hop off tour thing to give a snappy look at stuff around Taormina. Purpose of our visit was to see our local band Simple Minds play Teatro antica. Followed all around the world and that location is quite spellbinding - really if there was anything playing at all in that venue go see it. Francesca our host kept in contact with good info and helped us with logistics. Overall highly recommend for a wonderful stay in Taormina

Wegen den unten liegenden Restaurants war die Lautstärke nicht zu überhören. Abends die Restaurants und morgens die Müllabfuhr.

Good location, located just outside the old town walls. Funny old fashion unit that is spacious and clean. Comfortable bed though small. Air conditioning unit works well but is located in the hallway so it does not effectively cool the different rooms. You need to close all doors except to the rooms you wish to cool. Would not be great during the hottest summer months. Great grocery store within a 1 minute walk of the unit (we unfortunately didn’t find it until a couple days into our stay).

Late check-in time , 5pm. This has to do with cleaning the unit but check-out is by 10am, so should be able to clean unit in less than 7 hours. Host accommodated an earlier check-in because unit was cleaned ahead of schedule but we recommend having check-in at 3-4pm to align with other apartment and hotel rentals. This is a noisy location. Single-pane windows. Even with them all closed you can clearly hear people talking, traffic, music, street cleaning throughout the night, plus there is glass collection around 4am every night which you can’t possibly sleep through. This location could use some onsite instructions in regard to garbage separation/collection, how to use the stove and washing machine, nearest grocery store, etc. The host is available by WhatsApp for questions and provides info by messages, but clear written, onsite information would be helpful.

I liked everything! The property is spacious, quaint and very convenient. The interiors are architecturally interesting and the balcony views are spectacular. It reminded me of when I would stay in a family home in Sicily when I was a child. The location at Porta Catania is fabulous. The apartment is very private, but there is plenty going on around for those who like people watching from the two balconies. There is everything you could want - a well-equipped kitchen, a large living room with a comfy sofa and an extra bed, two great bedrooms, a spacious dining room, laundry facilities, plenty of wardrobe space, and a great courtyard for dining al fresco. The supermarket is just a hop, skip and a jump away, and the main Corso Umberto is less that 20 metres away. There is a taxi rank just metres away too and the cable car is only a 15 minute walk away (mostly flat route). On top of all of these positive things, the owner/host is communicative, friendly, unobtrusive and very accommodating. She also speaks excellent English. I really cannot fault Casa Rando / Mary’s House. It is perfect in every way and I will treasure my memories of staying here.

There is absolutely NOTHING not to like. The place is a dream.

Perfect location, a very traditional style property,beautiful large terrace with a fabulous view of Etna. Our host Francesca was extremely helpful.

Nothing to dislike, great value for money, for staying in a fabulous location in Taormina.
