Casa Rando Mary's House

The view of Mount Etna from the terrace was brilliant and an unexpected bonus. The property has air conditioning in the bedroom which was much-needed. The rest of the facilities were all fine, with no frills but everything worked and the apartment was clean. The communication with the person responsible for guests (nb not the owner) was perfect - Francesca goes above and beyond, advised on transport and even recommended a nice beach to go to.

The location was both good and bad. Being right at the entrance to one end of Corso Umberto (the main street) was convenient, but make no mistake - this is a very busy corner of town. The noise starts anytime from around 6am with street cleaners and garbage disposal and continues til late with people out and about enjoying themselves. If a little noise doesn't bother you then it's a great location. Don't expect any luxuries. The towels were old, small and thin and the patio furniture is ok for sitting having breakfast or an aperitif, but there are no chairs for lounging or sunbathing (just one old broken one). Decent towels and patio furniture would easily raise the game for this apartment.

Ligging is super

The location of the property was really central and the views from the balconies of etna were outstanding. There is a lovely courtyard area for outside dining and the style of the property is very traditional which was lovely.

Even though the location was really central this also made it a bit noisy particularly at night. There is a parking area just underneath the lounge and bedroom balconies which is noisy with mainly scooters coming and going.

The location was great in the center of Taormina-close to everything. Also the apartment was fully furnished with small balcony with chairs and table. Moreover, Francesca was so helpful and kind. She was answering to each question that we had really quickly. I recommend the apartment and hope to come back again 😊

Sadly a big disappointment! The accomodation needs a good cleaning, updating,painting,new towels, sheets,bed linens...everything! Would it be so much to ask for an extra toilet paper roll! The accommodation needs repairs, remove the old television on the wall. Why keep something that doesn't work? The weather was rainy and cold.The heating was non existent. The apartment was very noisy all hours of the night into the morning. The key was damaged. The door to the apartment could not be opened. The property correspondant, Francesa did not support. Instead I was told to ask someone off the street to help. The next day I was required to meet the owner and Francesca at the apartment on their time. There was supposed to be a locksmith. Instead the 86 year old owner came and sprayed the lock with oil. I returned the damaged key and used the backup key.

Fantastic location, at the entrance to the main (only) street of the city. Nearby: local Deco market, fresh fruit in front of the gate, delicious pizza (Zuccaro). The whole large apartment with a roof terrace exlusively for us.

Some basic items are missing (we couldnt find them): dishwashing liquid, washing powder, lights on the terrace. We had to wash cloths and a leg towel and all the dishes and cutlery etc.
