Cohen Smart House

Very nicely located near the Isola Bella beach, next to the restaurants and bars. The balcony was a super thing to have, plus the nice flowers hanging out there - the entire apartment was a flash of bright colours! Joanna was very helpful and friendly, always available on WhatsApp, offering us some really nice recommendations for visiting.

I have to admit there was a bit of a noise next to the main street, but it was perfect for a one-night stay.

Simply stunning view

Host Joanna provided all the details in a WhatsApp message. Easy.

The location was fantastic, the place was spotless, and the host was generous with breakfast and fruit supplies. She also responded very quickly to any queries. All of that was genuinely appreciated. However, the experience was soured by a lack of honesty and clear communication. Simple things like clearly stating that the fruit supplies were shared between two units, were never communicated. This led to an unnecessary fallout that could have easily been avoided. A bit more transparency and respect in how issues are handled would have made the stay much more enjoyable. Pertaining to dishonesty and the fallout over the share fruit supply, I have stated them under what I didn't like section I have also rated lowly for comfort and value for money lowly not because the property wasn't clean, it was indeed spotless but we needed 3 bedroom for a reason and being surprised to a 2 bedroom without telling us in advance was not comfortable. We may have canceled or may have agreed upon deciding on some adjustment if she had told us, but she did not so it was unexpected adjustments that we had to make, while lets not overlook that we also paid for a 3-bedroom not 2-bedroom.

Disappointing experience due to poor communication and lack of honesty. I booked a 3-bedroom unit. Later, I asked to shift the stay by one day (same number of nights). The host agreed and asked me to confirm early, which I did and I also requested a unit with the best view if possible, not knowing what all the unit views were like. On arrival, we were given a 2-bedroom unit with no explanation, this is why I rated that the property did not meet my expectations because I booked for a 3-bedroom. Only after I questioned it did the host claim it was to accommodate the date change, but she never informed me. That’s not acceptable, especially since I booked and paid for 3 bedrooms for a reason. She tried to justify it by saying we got the best view, but that’s just a consolation, not a solution, I was okay we had no choice no apology was ever given. I have proof of all conversations on booking.com and whatsapp. Later, my friend took the fruit basket and cake left outside by her, not knowing it was meant for us and the unit next to us which no one ever knew it was her guest too – who also happens to have the exact same view so no thanks to the dishonest consolation, an apology would have been a better option. There was no sign or message indicating it was for 2 units. I apologized sincerely once we understood from her message, but the she responded very rudely, repeatedly, and I apologized again but she didn’t stop until I had to call her dishonesty out which I stayed quiet about earlier. I can understand she was upset but it could have been indicated as how does she expect us to know that the neighbor was her guest? it was completely uncalled for, especially when she didn’t own up to her own mistake earlier without a single apology but she took the liberty to have a go at us very badly for taking those food in thinking it was only for us. She was responsive and the breakfast treats were appreciated, but the lack of transparency and bad attitude was uncalled for.

The view is insanely beautiful. I didn’t believe it could be as nice as the photos, but it was. The host was incredibly friendly & helpful, with very helpful instructions. Location was perfect, right by the beach & close to the cable car or stairs.

It was great, but only downside was parking being a few minutes away & having to get bags up the steps (made clear by the host). It’s also right on a busy road, but didn’t spoil sitting on that incredible balcony.
