Merkanti Apartments

The location was fabulous. The roof terrace was brilliant, lovely views. The place was well fitted out with an iron and board, and a washing machine, so a longer stay would have been possible with our light luggage. Plentiful hot water in a smart bathroom with towels, toiletries.

A little more attention to detail would help, with a better coffee machine (Mocha has seen its day?), an eggcup or two, etc. Nothing really detracted from an enjoyable visit.

The apartment was in the city of Valletta, which is stunning,.if you like traditional furnishings and old buildings then this is a delight. We enjoyed the views from the roof terrace and being surrounded by beautiful historic buildings

There wasn't anything we disliked but if you're in 4a then remember the 80 steps up to the apartment. We thought of it as the last bit of exercise before bed time.

The location was perfect and the host was very nice and accommodating

The apartment needs some upgrade. The outlets were loose from the walls, lighting was poor and some lamps did not work. The only AC was in the far bedroom so most of the apartment was warm, even hot at times. We killed several spiders

Leonards place in Valletta was the perfect base for us to explore this wonderful city. It was very well appointed and the balcony had an outstanding view over part of the harbour. In addition to this, Leonard was a brilliant host, friendly, helpful and always available.

We found it difficult to understand why the church bells toll throughout the night and, as they are close, they would wake us. If you are a light sleeper then make sure you bring ear plugs. Nothing to do with the property itself or Leonard of course but something to be aware of.

The location is brilliant, the rooftop is spectacular and the apartment is big and comfortable

If you like your apartments to look like generic hotel rooms this is not the place for you. I dislike generic furniture and lack of character- so it was perfect as far as I was concerned

Location was excellent, right on the main strip of Valletta. It had a terrace on the too of the building which had amazing views. It was nice to sit there in the evenings. The apartment was spacious & even had a washing machine which we didn’t realise but no washing powder..

We stayed in an 2 bedroom apartment on level 4. Unfortunately, when we opened the door it was ohhhh, not what we’re expecting. It didn’t have a nice warm vibe to it. The furniture was a bit of a mix match. There was no door in the main bedroom that lead into the living area. It felt like it was unfinished & some touches needed to be added to it. I was a bit disappointed considering what I paid & didn’t think the pictures on booking.com matched our apartment. . Fortunately,, the location made up for it. We meet a couple on the terrace one night, also on level 4 but, in a one bedroom apartment. They’re happy with their accommodation. We knew there was no lift in the building, only stairs but didn’t realize how many. At least 20 stairs per level. Just a heads up, If you have mobility issues it certainly will be a problem.
