Valletta Collection - Merchant Str Apartment with large yard

Easy to find and to enter and really central as we only had 1 day in Valletta to explore, this was important to us

We just couldn't work out the high tech lighting system, so many switches but that was the only downside, the apartment is amazing

The property is on one of Valletta’s main streets, and is actually located just above a number of busy cafes and bars. We didn’t hear a peep out of them during the night, though, as long as we kept the lounge and kitchen doors closed. The property is up one flight of stairs (26 steps in them so quite a long flight (I’m old, every step climbed counts!), so I was very glad that I’d chosen to bring two medium cases rather than 1 large one. We brought a good torch with us for which we were quite grateful. The lights in the hallway are okay but they are PIR activated on a timer that switches them off after 30 seconds, so Usain Bolt would probably be able to make it from the door to the staircase,up the stairs to the front door, get the key into the door and into the property within the allocated time, but anybody else would struggle. Everything about the property was spotlessly clean. The facilities in the kitchen are great, and the two bathrooms were excellent. One slight niggle was the tight space between the end of the glass screen and the tiled wall in the master bedroom’s en-suite. If you’re any larger than Kate Moss, then your back will slide across the tiles as you enter the shower and they can feel blinking cold! The lights are very flexible but a bit complex. Outside each room you have a minimum of 3 switches - mood lighting, spot lights, and main lights. This makes for a very customisable lighting setup, but we went out and bought a pack of post-its so that we could put a key above each switch panel - otherwise there’s no way that we would have kept track of which switch controlled what. I have a small label maker (one of those £29 3 inch square ones) at home and did debate bringing it with me, but decided against it - big mistake… The location can’t be faulted - leave the front door, turn right and walk 3 minutes or so and you’re at the local supermarket and in the midst of all the night life.

Lack of drier for any washing that you do - we improvised a wooden trestle above the bath for hanging smalls, which worked okay.

The Location was absolutely perfect. The apartment was large, clean, well equipped and it was lovely to have the yard to sit out in. We loved how well equipped the kitchen was

The only minor and I mean minor, was working the lights. They are different to UK ones and take some getting used to

the apartment is really large and beautiful. the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom shower was really nice. the kitchen is huge and furniture throughout the apartment is really nice. it’s also in a perfect central location, you couldn’t ask for a better location if you plan to walk around valetta. we arrived quite late and host had left some water and wine for us, which was a nice touch.

one bedroom is significantly nicer than the other. the white room has no access to the courtyard, poor wifi and no remote for air conditioning. check out is early and there was no possibility to store luggage.

Location, Size, Facilities, View, to sum up everything was great.

Wifi connectivity was very poor especially inside the white bedroom.
