Opulent Gem City Centre Getaway

Beautiful space that was a home away from home.

The television didn’t work. And there was little ventilation in the bathroom.

The place is closer to the shops and entertainment.

The room we were given had no privacy, the curtain was too small to cover both windows and in the morning would have to wake up to cover the other part as the light would wake you up but other than that I loved the place.

It offers a wash machine, fridge and all the cooking facilities.

The shower area is semi-enclosed, and after showering, water easily spills onto the floor outside. I suggest installing a shower curtain.

Comfortable bed, and pretty much all the basics one needs for a stay were provided. The decor is cute, and the building relatively easy to get into. There were welcome chocolates on the bed, and little biscuits for your tea/coffee, 2 coffee pods for the machine, and cold water and milk in the fridge, which I thought was a nice touch. There was very good communication from the owners leading up to my stay. The security was very helpful, and the location is great - close to everything!

The shower water didn't quite get fully hot. There is a large window looking out onto a multi-level parking lot, with no curtain or shield. I eventually got used to it, but I'd have appreciated a warning because it felt exposing when people were moving through the parking lot, so sometimes I'd have to go change in the bathroom. The key safety box is so tiny, and difficult to open/close; it took a long time (with some help from security) to put the key back when I left. Please re-think the box. Also, the walls are very thin, one night I had to hear an argument happening for hours - every word.

The apartment is central to most places in Cape Town.
