Pool wasn’t clean Noise from neighbours

Status of April 23/24 2026: the entire outside premises (garden, pool, terrace) and room no 3 (see in pictures the room with vintage furniture) is in a status of urgently needed cleanup and repair and inside (room 3) a sufficient ventilation (kitchen-like place and water tap). The bathroom made a modern and clean impression, but missing fly-screen in at least one window. The combined sleep-living-kitchen room, its cabinets and mattress and blankets had a moldy-moist smell and also feeling, the fly-screen was tattered - so we decided to cancel, but needed to stay the first night as we arrived 7:30 p.m. without meeting the owner. In addition to neighbor’s baby crying (allowed only kids older than 11 y) we met in the morning the owner and wished to cancel and leave, paying for one night. The owner proclaimed not to be responsible for the much-to-good web-announcement plus baby’s crying, comparing to reality, directed us for cancelling (accommodation is not as described/does not match the listing policies) to booking.com. Booking.com itself tried to direct us back to the owner, but finally clarified the cancelling with the owner - who agreed to cancel, but only under condition to pay for two nights, instead of one. Later the owner kind of ‘threatened us to see the cancellation as a generosity and therefore in exchange not to put a ‘bad’ feed-back into the booking.com system. Strange behavior! As we only wanted to leave the deranged and spoiled situation as fast as possible, we felt forced to agree and to pay for two nights (178 Euro) although we checked out before 11 a.m. and started the claim at 7:30 a.m. after the first disturbed and kind of ‘sleepless’ night. Resume: comparing to other found options ‘next door’ in Carvoeiro - this discussed place is totally overpriced.

We had a wonderful stay in Casa do Milho. The view from the cottage was stunning and made our stay truly special. The property is charming, full of greenery, and very well maintained. A perfect place to relax. well maintained – a perfect place to relax. The room looked exactly like in the photos and was well equipped. The host Nina was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. We highly recommend this place!

Everything was really lovely, but it would be even nicer if the outdoor furniture were a bit cleaner.

De ligging

Heerlijk rustige omgeving, volledig uitgeruste kamer, prima bed en douche. Aardige gastvrouw, er miste een kurkentrekker en binnen no time werd deze langsgebracht.
