The location itself was fine but access to the property was very difficult-narrow roads and a very small access to the garage.

My main grievance was the failure to inform me at the time of booking that the main access road from the town (Dartmouth) to the property was closed-and had been for many months-due to a problem with the road. Had I known this I would not have booked this property. I felt it was dishonest not to mention this. The first I heard was when I received an email from the local agents AFTER I had made the payment. I strongly believe that all future potential clients should be made aware of this information. Another problem was the lack of information and instructions on how to use the equipment. I could not work out the TV system or the electric hob. Now I know I am a senior citizen but I can follow instructions-if there had been any.

The apartment was quite modern, it was vey clean and tidy, it had all the modern equipment one would expect today. The bed was large and quite comfortable. We love Dartmouth so having easy access to the castle and Dartmouth itself was brilliant.

We are the wrong side of 75 so we were not keen on the stairs. We also found the sofa seating quite low for us. We were disappointed that the welcome pack was missing information regarding the oven and the microwave.

Self catering Everything that we needed for 4 days was there .

Not suitable for wheel chairs ( did not affect us ) once park car no need for it but 20 min walk into town Centre , very pleasant and gentle slopes .

This property has a lot going for it, namely space, location, fittings and relative quietness albeit it being early October

However there were a few negatives which could do with attention. 1. The direct road into Dartmouth has been closed to traffic for some time. This should be mentioned on he booking websites so that an informed decision can be made at that time, particularly for older people 2. On arrival we detected a musty damp smell in the en suite bathroom beyond the bed. Not sure the ceiling fan was operating 3.The operating system for the tv should be simpler. 4.Overall, instruction notices on the walls felt a bit severe rather than welcoming. 5. Parking in the garage is impeded by a couple of cars parked opposite the entrance. Seems a strange situation. We parked on the road above but it was October. Notwithstanding the above we had a lovely four night stay thank you
