Jewel of Royal Mile Apartment

The location was excellent; we could easily walk everywhere. The check-in process was very smooth, and the information provided was perfectly clear. Also, whenever we needed to get in touch, we received very quick responses.

However, there were a few downsides. The house was cold upon arrival; it would have been nice if it had been pre-heated, but we had to turn the heating on ourselves. The kitchenware definitely needs replacing, as some pots and pans have reached the end of their lifespan. The sofa bed in the living room is uncomfortable and needs an update for anyone sleeping there. Extra pillows are also needed. Lastly, we connected to the Wi-Fi, but the connection was weak and problematic.

Location was good, located right by the Royal Mile which is perfect for sight seeing. Use of washing machine was really handy.

The property was really unclean - one sofa had stains whilst the other sofa had dirt and grime in every hole. Brown stains were on the floor in the living room and there were in general, marks, scuffs, stains & holes in the floor all over the apartment. Pictures for the property were slightly misleading as they seem to be from a while ago. An outdoor mat has been added to the hallway to cover a WiFi cable that’s been laid and sellotaped across the floor. WiFi is very patchy - if you are using this to work, it might not be suitable, evening watching YouTube or googling something was difficult at times. Bathroom towels provided seem to have been washed with bleach and gave a bad skin irritation. The listing advertises that parking is available - but only on contacting the owner did we realise that this parking is first come first served, only had 8 spaces total and is extremely tight. Of course, this being a residents parking for a whole block of flats meant there was never a space available - we had to park in the Travelodge car park next door for £25 a day. The apartment is located on the ground floor meaning multiple cars and people go past the windows. Shutters for the bedroom window were slightly broken meaning people could see in to the bedroom from the outside - we had to cover this with our belongings to make sure it wasn’t visible. No shower gel or tea towels were provided.

Cleanliness, facilities, wifi and location value for money👍.

The house number must be on door and NOT on the frame which cannot be seen easily. Cupboards with coat hangers should have rods to hang clothes

Wifi was very patchy Local pub likes to use the doorstep as a meeting place at 3am for a smoke

Excellent location in city center with private parking. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly and responsive Host. Spacious. Comfortable and Safe. Easy checkin. Comfy beds and fresh Linens. Heaters and hot water were good. Bathroom was hygienic. Stayed with family. Overall enjoyed my stay would definitely come back again.

Teeny weeny issue was the air was a bit stale for my liking. The house would be top-notch with a bit of air circulation or air fresheners. Majority may not even find it an issue. Nothing that would not make me book here again.

The location.

Cleanliness, floors were dirty and a pack of pills was found on the floor under tv unit. There was mold everywhere. Bathroom was full of mold and kitchen too, food we bought went moldy within a day. Kitchen was poorly equipped. Bedsheets for the sofa bed were stained and the sofa bed was uncomfortable and not safe to sleep on as it would tip over. Even after following instructions to turn heating on, heating didn’t work.

The location was very good

The check in was a bit delayed but overall a very good experience
