The West Bow Apartment

The property was well set up, felt like home and very close to central locations.

The front door. You’d have to open the two sides to get in comfortably especially for a big size person or when you are carrying stuff.

Die Lage war grundsätzlich perfekt, da mitten im Zentrum am Grassmarket gelegen. Die Küche war super ausgestattet, alles war sauber, die Wohnung ist recht groß und für längere Aufenthalt perfekt. Der Sightseeingbus fährt 50 m entfernt ab, das National Museum of Scotland, das Castle und alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in unmittelbarer Geh Entfernung super erreichbar.

Es war sehr laut. Als wir dort waren, war parallel der "Fringe" im August, ein Kleinkunstfestival in der ganzen Stadt, dazu der Military Tattoo und weitere Festivals, so dass in der Stadt statt 500.000 Leuten rund 1,5 Mio waren. Deshalb war super viel los und vor allem direkt vor unserem Fenster auf den Platz hinaus. Ein lockerer Dohlen vor der Türe, hat bei jeder Fahrt eines Autos darüber, einen lauten Schlag gelassen, dass es wirklich heftig war. Im Schlafzimmer ist hinten ein Hinterhof, wo mitten in der Nacht und morgens Glasabfälle ausgekippt werden, dass man fast aus dem Bett fällt. Also ohne Ohropax nicht zu empfehlen. Aber wenn man nicht lärmempfindlich ist, dann ist es perfekt.

Floor vibrations in the lounge from below but solved by putting two heavy suitcases (40kg of weight) in a perfect position.

Great location. Close to all things in the old town.

The apartment sits directly above a restaurant which runs a generator or air conditioning unit that makes the apartment floor constantly shake.

The location is great, just minutes walk from many of the Old Town attractions and places of interest. The first floor apartment has its' own door access, is spacious and has all conveniences we required for a short stay.

Really soft mattress paired with a small mattress overall didn’t really mean a good sleep unfortunately.
