The Hideout (Garden Flat, 4 Dragon Road)

An excellent apartment that exceeded our expectations. Clean, modern and pretty spacious and had everything that we needed. The heating was on when we arrived and was lovely and warm which was very welcome after a day spent outdoors. Public car parking directly across the road which cost a reasonable £7.40 for 24 hours. Close enough to walk into Harrogate town centre in around 10 minutes. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment was a little tricky to find in the dark but once we did, it was easy to access the keys.

Very much a 1.5 star property. Plenty of space but beds were creaky. Kitchen ill equipped (only 2 forks for a 5 person property). Not enough towels and they only provided 1 hand sized towels each (the sort you put round your head to dry your hair). But since the water coming out of the bath and shower wouldn't get hot we had to transfer water from the sink and kettle to get a wash. Had to provide our own loo role (only 1 provided). No lock on the bathroom door. Property does not lock from the inside so if you are waiting for others to come in at night you have to leave the property insecure and with no lock on the bathroom door... No hangers for clothes in the bedrooms and no hook to hang anything in the bathroom. Landlord clearly didn't know the property as wasn't able to help. No guest instructions at all or any local information provided. Not even a take away menu. Parking information given was incorrect so good thing we bought advanced parking rather than relying on landlord info. For 5 people working a long weekend in a place we know well it was pretty rubbish. For tourists it would have been very poor. Would not take a lot to make this a good property but landlord clearly not interested. If it is ever improved, take earplugs as it is on a main road and under some sort of business so early morning is noisy. It is gloomy and you can't open the blinds and still have any privacy.

Loved the flat. Very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Powerful shower. Lovely and warm. Asda just across the road.
