NEW - Stylish 2 bed, Farnham Common

The location, close to my family.

The property was not in good condition, shower flooded, wardrobe door broken, bathroom drawer broken, the dining chairs need repairing. There was no welcome note, nor chocolate. Bed linens were all mismatched, had to ask for a tea towel .and bath towels. No where to sit outside. The unit needs to be maintained and cleaned properly.

Location and the layout of the property are very good

It wasn’t as clean as it could have been, the shower drain needs attention to allow for the water to flow without worrying it will over spill the shower tray

It is close to many highlights in the region. At night it is silent. You can park directly in front of the property.

It was absolutely not hygienic. The bedsheets contained stains as they were used before (an not only for sleeping!). The towels were horribly stained as they were washed with only water several times. The drain in one of the bathrooms didn't work well. It was impossible to use the shower longer than 1 minute due that. They had a leakage somewhere, with as results that many walls in the property have been wet. This hasn't been restored. The toiletbrush was full of dirt. There were no dishtowels, not enough forks for 4 people, no backing pan. Summarized: absolutely no value for money. When we contacted to host about this, he could only talk about the 'terms', cancellation and a return of our money was not possible. The only thing he can do is ask the cleaning lady to return and tell us that previous guest had no issues. Most interesting is that we found reviews with the same issues from previous guest. For us an absolutely NO GO.

Property was a good size and fairly wheelchair accessible (there's a bit of a step onto the ramp outside). Having two bathrooms is a bonus. The location is good for exploring the area. The high street is literally seconds away through an alleyway with plenty of places to eat and small supermarkets and Burnham Beeches isn't far away. There are lots of Red Kites in the area and a beautiful Mandarin duck at Burnham Beeches. We visited Bekonscot model village and Waddesdon Manor both highly recommended and wheelchair accessible.

The towels were still wet when we arrived but all rolled up neatly we found an airer to dry them and found more wet things on top of the washing machine including baby bed linen. The plug in the bath didn't fit in the plughole so you could only shower, There appeared to have been issues with water leaking behind the tiles in the main bath room and damp in the ensuite, the switches for the extractor fans are above the doors though and I wasn't tall enough to reach without using a brush or something. We did have issues with parking but that was the fault of the people who were there before us who hadn't left the permit and who continued to park in our space as they were staying in a different accommodation there, but the landlord did manage to resolve this.

The location was convenient for our event.

This property is very poorly maintained and was ill-equipped. The fittings and furniture were very cheap and much of it was broken. The linen was not provided initially. The heating was not working and there was no hot water which we discovered only late on, and when the owner came to show us the boiler we only got lukewarm water for the rest of the stay. The kitchen had only three pans, of which two were tiny and had handles that were falling off which made them dangerous. There were only three bowls, five forks and four knives for a property advertised for six people. We had to buy an extra pan in order to have sufficient equipment to cook for five of us, and the hob was installed so close to the wall that the pans did not fit anyway. The freezer was jammed & not defrosted. In the bathroom there was a huge crack running the whole length of the shower and the tiles were coming away from the walls. The bath fittings were loose and had left a hole. We felt we that we couldn't use the shower. The mattresses in the bedrooms were extremely poor - very squidgy with collapsing edges. I chose to sleep on the hardwood floor over sleeping on the mattress because I was doing an ultra challenge the next day and could not afford to ruin my back. The sofa bed did not have any linen, and when we asked for duvet cover/base sheet/pillows/tea towels we did not get a base sheet or tea towels. The sofa itself was very dirty and covered in hair and dust so not being able to cover this with a sheet made it unpleasant. The property is described as having parking, but the permit was missing and it took hours to resolve by which time someone had parked a large vehicle across the space. A poorly sited bin shed meant there was no space for our car. The owner lives in the same building, was very friendly but only partially resolved our requests which meant that we were making do all weekend. This property is definitely not new and is in need of refurbishment.

The location was. Ideal for what we needed. It was a reasonable property but needs some improvement. The single beds were comfy but not the double bed. It has good access to shops (Tesco, costa, a nice looking bar etc) are literally a 30 second walk away)

We booked for 6 guests and the owners were aware this was the case (this is the maximum the property can accommodate. The issues we had were: - The mattress in main bedroom is very soft and you can feel the springs. - Oven does not work. It sounds like the fan turns on but the lights stays off and it does not heat up. None of the seatings worked. - We could not find the key for the patio doors and we needed to open them as it was a hot day. - Shower tray blocked and so overflowed. - Lack of cutlery and crockery (not enough for 6 guests) - We needed to us the sofa bed and when we pulled it out there was an old chip underneath. - Not enough pillow cases or towels for 6 guests. - No yea towel. I tried to phone the owner about the above to get it rectified (and avoid the need for negative feedback) but they did not answer and never called me back.

Good location for Beckonscot model village. Fans were useful in hot weather as French doors weren't allowed to be opened.

Kitchen cupboards had old food in them and not clean. The freezer had a broken drawer and was completely iced up. No tea towel or dishcloth. No bedlinen for the sofa bed No bath plug (couldn't easily bathe toddler) The drain for the shower was blocked. King bed is very uncomfortable. It feels like the springs have gone. The front door lock was difficult to undo. It was not the first time judging by the damage already done to the door frame. We felt fobbed off as we were told that because the place was booked up, there was no time to do repairs. Customer satisfaction did not appear to be a priority for the owners This is the only property we've ever had an issue with.
