The heater was a bit slow to warm up the apartment. May be due to the fact that I am from tropical country

Location was fantastic, place was comfy and very clean. Shower pressure was good. Communication with host was great too, always quick with responses.

Amenities were lacking - you would expect tea bags or coffee in most accommodation but there wasn't anything and we didn't want to buy a full box/jar when we were only staying a couple of nights and then flying. The toaster was also broken - not a huge deal but should probably have been checked ahead of check in.

Cosy, well equipped apartment, very clean. Location is central very close to attractions, shopping and pubs. Great for a city break.

We arrived at the property and from the moment we opened the door the strong smell of stale smoke hit us and was embedded everywhere in the property. No smoking signs were everywhere which suggested previous guests had been smoking inside. Despite trying to air out the property in the cold winter and buying scented candles, air fresheners & even a reed diffuser. The smell of smoke remained throughout our stay and even some of our clothes picked up this horrible smell. In addition to the smell the property was not clean a large sticky patch on the floor by the sofa greeted us from what looked like a drink spill not cleaned up properly. The cupboards were filthy. We had to wash up all the cutlery, plates & glasses before use due to how dirty they were. The property itself is a flat on an old council block. It is generally very tired in appearance and outdated. The sofa is old and being fabric the smoke smell is very prominent. The bed is extremely old and felt like it would break at at moment. The slightest movement caused squeaking and creaking making it not a comfortable night. There are old rugs put down that again are harbouring the smoke smell, we weren’t brave enough to see if they were hiding anything under them. The property has tartan curtains, whilst look nice however would also be carrying the smoking smell due to the thickness of the fabric. The bedroom carpet was also very worn. During our stay whilst the shower worked throughout it only produced hot water on the first day so we were unable to a warm shower for the majority of our stay. There was also other let downs such as just 2 toilet rolls for a 3 night stay, 1 of which was already half used. No tea or coffee. The wardrobe wasn’t big enough to hang my wife’s dresses & my suits due to its design. Minor points but in the back drop of the major issues listed above. I appreciate some may read this as being picky but I can honestly say we are not.
