La Giara del Centro

Apartment was spacious, clean, lots of good restaurants in area train close by for the Cinque Terra also buses and ferries. Host is very nice and explained lots of things to do in area even gave maps

Everything was perfect except for one tiny thing...

.... There was no bottle opener for bottles of beer

The apartment is very central right on the Main Street of La Spezia! Extremely clean, very nice bed and bathroom, no complaints!

The location was perfect, close to the train station, right on a main pedestrian only road. Very central and close to many restaurants and shops. The place was as advertised, clean and very quiet. Communications were easy and quick to respond.

I'm finding it difficult to write this review. Most of what I was looking for (location, cleanliness, price, communication with the host) were just fine, but the room was depressing. Maybe it was just the lighting; there was one bright overhead light and two bare-bulb "reading lights" mounted to the walls at the head of the bed. The only place to sit and read was a chair/foldup bed, but no decent lighting. I would up reading with my headlamp! Patrizia was very helpful getting me to the parking and then to the room; she gave me some good tips for hiking in Cinque Terre. But after the hiking I didn't want to return to the room, so I just left after paying for two nights.
