Haven Oaks - Self Contained Rural Lodge 1

Very clean lodge. Well appointed. Comfy bed. Perfect bathroom. Great value for money. Owner was available to offer direction when our satnav failed. Lovely outdoor seating on patio. The outdoor lighting at night was great for finding our way. The deer in the field were great entertainment.

Fridge freezer doors need to be hung the opposite way to ease use. Microwave would be useful but we managed without

There was nothing negative about our stay.

The surroundings. The shower was heaven.

The bed was too hard but only because my husband has an old back injury

The facilities was excellent warm and comfortable everything was of very high standard

Just missing a microwave that's the only issue

Well located to visit a large part of Hampshire including Wight Island for a day. The apt is modern, well furnished, decorated simply with taste and very quiet. Fairly well equipped for cooking, good wifi and shower. Dining or sitting on the terrace in the evening and watching a regular deer was pleasant at the end of May, specially since the other cabin was not rented. Be aware that this is a bare bone apt, absolutely nothing is furnished except one soap pump in the bathroom. No salt, pepper, sugar, soap, shampoo, etc. We never met the hosts who live next door. With a little extra care and comfort, this place could rate 9 or even 10. It was OK but we saw better on this trip and others.

The apt was exactly like in the pictures but the exterior was partly a good surprise and partly a disappointment. The two apts have a charming cabin like wooden exterior with a terrace and they are overshadowed by magnificient trees but the field in front is bordered on the right side by a car storage area where 6 or 7 cars and vans are parked permanently, there are no trees or hedge to hide them. The bed is a cheap Ikea mattress that is too soft and gave me a backache. Few glasses were supplied and mismatched.

well equipped (no microwave?) and very comfy. Host was very helpful prior to visit and during. Lovely and quiet too.
