Ammonite Luxury beachfront apartment

The apartment is in a great location, super close to the beach and everything you need. Note that there can be a little noise from the bars nearby, but it wasn't overly busy, so it didn't affect us. When you arrive, there is a nice welcome basket with a few bags of crisps and fudge, and they supply a few shower gels and shampoos - not the greatest quality, but it would get you out of a jam.

The biggest issue we faced was with the beds. Starting with the main bedroom, it has a small double bed that’s so well-loved it has a dip in the middle, so you and your partner tend to roll together. The sofa bed for the kids is quite thin, and our eldest chose to sleep on the floor since the carpet provided more support and comfort. The kitchen has some helpful basics like salt, pepper, tea bags, and so on—thank you for those—but there are only four of each cutlery type, which can be a bit limiting when cooking. We also found we were one bowl short, so during breakfast, we had to wait for one person to finish before the last person could start.

The location is great, right by the front with a lovely sea view. Parking to drop off and load up was a bit tricky. There are 2 short stay car parks very close by with just a few spaces in each. They're very popular and we had to 'circle, for a bit before we could get a space. The best car park to move to for a longer stay is the Charmouth one. Loads of spaces there but you need to factor in the cost of parking - up to £15 for over 10 hours. That said we used the JustPark app and it was just over £9 on there. Check in was very easy, we went into the shop and were shown up to the flat.

We thought the flat was really average with no real effort made to make it feel cosy and homely. On the plus side, there was lots of storage which was great. But in the end we thought it was quite overpriced, especially in comparison with a flat we stayed in at Exmouth the week before which was stunning and luxurious in comparison, and over £250 cheaper for 7 nights.

The location was excellent and the apartment is nicely furnished. Lots of light during the day. We loved being able to walk across the road to the beach and how close the apartment is to cafes and restaurants.

There was quite a lot of thumping and bumping in the apartment above ours. Perhaps a reminder needed to those on the top floor that there are other guests below. There is quite a bit of traffic noise (which is to be expected, given the central location.)
