Bluebell Cottage

Loved the coziness, the beautiful antique furniture, coffee / tea / sugar / salt available. Peaceful and lush garden, comfy seating. Loved it all!

Nothing that I didn't like.

Nice and cosy. Big rooms. Clean. Kitchen well equipped.

Gate... Opening the gate in the rain not ideal.

It got very cold during our stay, but we were warned by the host of the unpredictability of Dullstroom's weather. I was so grateful for all the heating options on offer. We had access to an electric blanket, bathroom heaters, a heater in the lounge, and a fireplace!

The staff who had cleaned the cottage before our arrival had left in a hurry. The toilets were mid-clean. I let the host know about this and she apologised for this, explained the situation, paid us a personal visit and gave us complimentary rusks!

Neat and comfortable, nice fireplace and all you could wish for, for self-catering.

The fireplace needs a protective metal mesh, to stop sparks falling on the carpet. The wooden windows (in the master bedroom bathroom) need proper locks and sealing - quite a draft, when cold wind blows. The property entrance gates need some locks.

We appreciated the attention to detail and the little 'extras'. Provision for load shedding, firewood, electric blanket, heaters in the bathrooms, extension cord, etc. The location suited us and the cottage was spacious and comfortable.

There are some things that needed attention but nothing that detracted from the value we felt we got from our stay.

I loved the location and the house

The house smelt, the carpet needs to be cleaned and the bathrooms had a weird smell (like old pee) There where rats or mice in the ceiling and I found drippings in the living room.

location is good, Les the manager were friendly.

Linnen old and stains on, towels old and stains on, main bedroom bathroom smells of urin, could not sleep there, unit not clean, dstv did not work on arrival.
