Good location

I would not recommend booking this property. We originally booked an apartment to sleep 6 people, but before our arrival we were told there were “maintenance issues” and that we would be split into two separate apartments. We didn’t mind that arrangement, but what we got was unacceptable. One of the apartments stank of weed, was visibly damaged, and had clearly not been cleaned properly. Communication from the owners was extremely poor, I had to chase for updates multiple times and felt like the issues were being ignored. To make matters worse, the owner refused to offer any refund or compensation, insisting it was the fault of previous guests. Overall, the whole experience was very disappointing. Poor communication, unclean and unpleasant accommodation and no accountability. I would recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the stress and hassle we experienced.

"Really disappointing, the word Luxury in the description is insulting."

The location was very central.

The carpets were very stained. The light switches didn't work properly (if you turned on the bathroom light, it turned off the bedroom lights. There were stains on the sofabed, and some rubbish left around it. There were no blinds in the whole apartment, so sleeping was difficult. The ventilation was limited (top floor so windows would only open a few millimetres), so the apartment was very hot. Fans were provided, but just moved the hot air around. The shower over the bath had to be held by hand as it wasn't fitted to point downwards. We had booked this to stay in for my daughter's university graduation, and she was so upset by it that she moved to a hotel for the night, as it would have ruined what should have been a special day.

Absolutely filthy! Sofa bed was unusable and needs to be thrown out - wouldn't let my dog sleep on it. Bed sheets we're not clean and clearly had not been washed. Cupboards were filthy, carpets stained and not hoovered, walls damaged and marked, windows filthy, cobwebs everywhere. Little cutlery - had to ask for some glasses, plates etc. as there were only 2 cups! Stairwell was damaged and filthy. Fire alarm went off for over 2 hours.No one would come out to a) check that there was no fire and b) to switch the alarm off. I had to figure out how to do it - didn't get to bed until 3.00 am!! I have numerous photos, videos and records of all my messages. Houndsgate are refusing to refund me. Have contacted the Nottingham Tourist office and Fire Service. Will never use AirBnBs in Nottingham again - absolutely terrible experience!!

1-Star Review – A Property Left to Rot Advertised as clean and modern—what I actually stayed in was a vandalised, poorly maintained flat that looked like it hadn’t seen a lick of care in years. The shower cord was in a sorry state—cheap to replace, yet ignored. Shoe marks on the walls, cracked tiles, chipped paint, and general neglect. This isn’t “wear and tear”—it’s abandonment. A fault in the fire alarm system left it ringing uncontrollably for eight hours straight, spilling out onto the street. I was told via message this had happened before, yet nothing has been done to prevent it. During this time, every guest was left exposed without working safety features. No secure feeling, no peace of mind—it was impossible to relax or settle. No emergency contact. No on-site support. Just templated, robotic messages from the host. Why no deposit? Why no basic local handyman or safety protocol? Paintwork is cheap, and so is effort. And yet, they still took a £50 cleaning fee—in a place that felt like the aftermath of a party, not a professional rental. After raising concerns, I was ignored. No apology. No gesture. Just indifference. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to Booking.com with full evidence. This isn’t a short-stay apartment—it’s a ghost host’s cash grab. Avoid.

"Not as pleasant an experience as you’d expect from the entry"

Nicely appointed. Good location Kitchen nice with v small table

The only fresh air comes in from the living room window. That is the only window in the whole suite. There was no sheet provided for the sofa bed. Messages were the only way to communicate and they were answered by an ai. TV remote didn’t work. Lack of fresh air became oppressive. There were two fans which helped but we had to keep all doors and the one window open all night
