Everything was perfect for us - location, view from the balcony, apartment equipment, sharp knives in the kitchen, very friendly host. Traditional cake and several delicious bananas as a gift from the host. Possibility to borrow a car from the host.

Amazing ocean view, nice host, and very good location to reach everything in max one hour.

- Offers a great view and has available parking spots. - Near restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket, making it a great base for trips. - Apartment is spacious and well equipped. - Rent a car from the apartment owner, will make your life easier.

- No swimming pool (it's a 5min drive and is open only during summer time) - Be aware of airplanes flying nearby, but this won't bother you much as most of the time you're enjoying levadas/hiking.

The apartment is nice and clean and has a wonderful view on the ocean. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped and there were all the little things you need, like salt and oil etc. And the coffee was good! There are parking places nearby which is essential because this is a place where you'd need a car. The hosts are helpful and friendly, they provided us with some local fruits and pastries upon arrival, which was super nice!

I can't say that this somehow bothered us but since the apartment is close to the airport, the planes land right above it and they are quite noisy :)

We had a fantastic time in this apartment. It's close to Funchal, so ideal place to start your trips. The view from the rooms are really great. The location of the flat is also good because no one will have view to the balcony. We also got some welcome surprise what is really nice gesture. Also the planes didn't bother as at all.

The view from the balcony is beautiful and outstanding, and the owner checked in with us regularly, to see if we needed anything, and is only a message away. The beds are extremely comfortable and the apartment offers plenty of pillows. Great TV and sofa if you have time to relax!! A reasonably sized supermarket very close. Maderia is stunning, I would recommend a car to see the whole island and what it has to offer. The natural pools that are dotted around the island are a must for a swim. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain and the sledge ride down, very exciting, but please note the sledges only stop half way down, after that it's a taxi ride for approx 10€ or a 30min walk. The national park is beautiful, and worth a ride through in the car. The coast road has numerous miradors(viewing spots) shown on Google maps, many with outstanding scenery. A trip to the valley of the nuns and a short walk to the viewing point over looking the village shouldn't be missed. Maderia is very steep, be prepared if you have mobility issues. I would definitely use this apartment again, but stick to funchal if you don't have a car.

We arrived in the dark, and the apartments were poorly lit, directions were good to the apartment block, but maybe the owner could of told us the apartment we needed was on the 1st floor, we struggled to find it, and when you've had a long journey, it's the last thing you want. You definitely need a car if you stay here, very few facilities on the door step. We knew, and chose this apartment because the planes flew over, my husband is an aircraft spotter, but if you weren't, the noise is tremendous, and they fly 400ft above you, but also only fly from 8am-11pm daily, so don't disturb your sleep. More than 1 big towel each would be nice, we had to wash them daily. But overall very few negatives, the apartment is great.
