Briscoe Lodge Self Catering Apartments

Clean ,kind people,very friendly, and amazing price!

This was our second stay at Graham’s B&B. This time for a mini stay for our honeymoon. As always Graham was extremely helpful and offered us a warm welcome and on this occasion recommended a couple of nice restaurants for us to dine at which were exceptional - special mention to San Pietro around 8 minutes walk from the B&B. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and offered a great nights sleep. As per our last visit, the breakfast was also very good, Graham makes it clear upon booking that he doesn’t offer a cooked option which is never an issue for us as there is an extensive range provided in lieu of this. The location is one of the main reasons we booked our stay with Briscoe Lodge again, easy access to all amenities locally, and around a 20 minute walk to the shore of Windermere/Bowness if you want to catch the boat. You also have the option of the bus which runs frequently to Ambleside/Keswick and beyond. Another excellent point worth mentioning is the value for money Graham’s B&B provides, the location, comfort and cleanliness are adequately reflected in the price of the stay, and you won’t be disappointed if you decided to book Briscoe Lodge. Thank you once again Graham!

Great location, walking distance from train station and town. Clean facilities, comfortable bed and warm heating. My best friend and I had a lovely time there!

It was difficult to find the entrance to the aparrment, we would've appreciated it if it was specified in the confirmation email from the host saying that the apartment door was in the back of the building.

I have a friend who lives in Hawkeshead and from time to I intend to call and see him. I found that Briscoe Lodge entirely met my needs and it is my intention, always to try to get in Briscoe Lodge. Graham and his family were a delight to meet and did their utmost to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I never have a cooked breakfast at home and their continental breakfast suited me perfectly. The host had put some thought into the various options that visitors might expect and I was perfectly satisfied with their offerings.

It is totally beyond the control of Graham and his family, but after my first night's struggle to find a suitable parking area, I learned from MY mistake and found a good place on my second night.

Very well kept and managed place with a superfriendly host; Cosy room (hardly ever had stayed in a b&b where even rainy days don't screw up your mood). continental breakfast provided. Close to train, busses and ships; Plan to come back

Rooms to the street might be a bit noisy during the day (though the windows close well)

Location

Room is very small and the windo le was facing the alleyway. It is my personal view. Otherwise the host is a perfect British gentleman.

Seemed cold at first but that passed when it warmed up with good heating.
