Shepherds Lodge is a beautiful cosy quiet private safe and luxuriously comfortable place. From the host, Daniel’s, first “welcome” to my departure, I felt as though I was on holiday even though I was there for work! Everything you could want is provided in this little haven and if anything is required, Daniel is very obliging. I particularly enjoyed the sounds of the rain and wind adding to the snuggly warmth of the cottage-like interior ambience and waking up to the incredible vista of the Boyne Valley. A country side location that’s just a 12 minute spin from Drogheda town centre. The best of both worlds! The Lodge is very well insulated and controlling the temperature is very easy with electric heaters and fully opening windows. A terrific alternative to a hotel stay.

No dish soap or sponge was provided to properly wash the dishes - by no means a deal breaker! The hosts clearly look after cleaning anyway as everything was spotless when I arrived.

The lodge is immaculately clean and tidy. The owner is so helpful and such a gentleman. The lodge is in close proximity to all the tourist locations. Highly recommend the lodge for solo or family travel!

Nice and quiet very comfortable

I spent a few quite days in Daniel's apartment and really enjoyed it! The furnishing and fittings are modern and very comfortable. Nice little kitching, modern bath and cosy king size bed. Great location for excursions. I felt very comfortable. Daniel is a very friendly and courteous host, million thanks!!

This is a little gem of a place. All the things you need are within the lodge, dining wear, glasses, little fridge, toaster, kettle and a hob. There were also towels and loo roll! it suited us perfectly for a base whilst visiting family & attending a concert. Daniel was very welcoming and on hand in case we needed anything which we didn't, but knowing he was there was great. We felt very secure at the property as well.

We only had 1 issue which was the shower the water pressure is a dribble and the temperature was very variable, Daniel is going to get this looked at, he obviously was unable to get someone over the weekend we were here. It wasn't a massive issue, just a little inconvenient. We would definately stay here next time.
