Eastbrook River Self Catering Cottages

Stunning location. Very sweet & Friendly dogs.

No electric blankets. Very cold cottages. Not enough provisions made to combat the temperatures. Stepping in dog faeces the moment I got out the car while trying to offload luggage. An Inebriated man named John (owner or manager of property) phoned several times, hours after we had already checked in, to “find out which unit we were staying in and how many guests we were”. The final time he phoned we were already sleeping at half one the morning! Needless to say we lost our temper.

Easy access from main road. Access to river.

Our family of 5 were put in 2x separate cabins on opposite ends of the property making the stay VERY inconvenient. When we addressed this with the management it was instantly dismissed as “late booking” without a further thought. Time spent at the property was thus the 5 of us squashed into the kids cabin making the experience very cramped and uncomfortable. Had we been made aware that this would be the case we would definitely not gone ahead with the booking. Because of costs for 2x units, we could have booked many other places in the area more comfortable for less. Units are close together with some sharing walls with neighbours making the venue feel like a campsite/caravan park with communal living.

The cottage was self catering. Location nice.

The problem we had was with excesive flies. TV would have been nice with dish.

The hosts were fabulous and I felt really welcome. The gardens are stunning, the room totally adequate and comfortable. The stillness at night was deeply restorative. Had fun swimming in the river and exploring the surrounding areas!
