Voula's Place

Great place. Very clean and comfortable with absolutely everything you need. Full kitchen, waterfilter so you can drink tap water. Good bed, balcony with furniture., Tv, big sofa, big tabel so you can enjoy homemade meals. Big fridge (half on half fridge/freezer) The appartment is in a very quiet part of town, 20 minutes walk from Chania venetian Harbour and got it's own parking space. Definitely worth a stay. The owner contunerly check up on us to be make the stay as good as possible. WiFi worked great. Will be back 👍

What to say about this apartment? I’ve been to Chania 2 times before and I was staying all the time at the old harbour. This time, I chose to stay at Nea Chora just to be next to the sea. Eventually, it wasn’t only just the best option for us as far as the location, but the apartment that we found was more than perfect from all the experiences I had generally. Let’s start with the hostess which was in Canada and even thought, we felt much more comfortable with her even remotely. She was always sending us if everything is ok and despite the time difference the response times was almost immediate. Finding the place was very easy, as well as entering the apartment. Once we enter the apartment a clean house was there waiting for us. As travellers, this time we said to ourselves that we need to save some money and staying at Voula’s place made our goal a reality. From the bathroom until the kitchen and the bedroom everything that we need to cook, to take shower, to air conditioning, to eat for breakfast, to drink a nice wine. Everything was there! We didn’t even have to but something more from the supermarket that was literally 50m away. What surprise us was that there were umbrellas and other beach facilities available to you to take. For a couple that didn’t even have a car and came with airplane this was the highlight. We were so anxious to find an umbrella to sit at the beaches as well as to but an umbrella and then to have to leave it to Chania!! The air conditioning in such hot days was more than amazing and reliable that we need a blanket to feel a kittle bit warm at the night! We cooked also and as I mentioned everything was there. The frier was the best I have ever used. Imagine that we cooked an omelette and it didn’t stuck.

Nothing. Everything was more than perfect. Maybe for people that they have disability issues, an elevator will be a plus for sure.

We had the pleasure of meeting Voula during our stay and found she was extremely helpful with suggestions and recommendations.She was quick to reply with any queries. The apartment was excellent and very clean and the kitchen area met our needs.The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was great as the temp range from 30- 36c during our stay. Walking from city centre took about 20-25 mins and local bus (20) stops within 5-10 mins walk from the apartment. Nea Chora beach about 5mins walk and the old town 25-30 mins walk.Lots of good places to eat along Nea Chora beachfront.A medium sized supermarket (kavros)is a few minutes walk away as are several good bakeries. The main bus bus station about 20 mins walk away and very good to discover other areas nearby such Gramvousa and Balos beaches (bus and tour boat)and Reythmno about an hour by bus. The botanical park of Chania about 40 mins away by bus and has an excellent cafe/restaurant on the deck with great views.

There are some layout issues. The furniture is a bit too big for the space- lots of stubbed toes. The hot water is literally scalding and would be dangerous for children. Communication with the owner was very difficult as she is in Canada and the time difference is substantial. we didn’t ask for some things we needed (beach towels, clothes pins, soap) because it seemed like an in inconvenience. A wifi technician showed up with no notice at all needing access to the apartment. The experience would have been much improved by having a local manager who is able to communicate directly with international guests. Be aware if you’re going there that the water bottle (unlabelled) in the fridge is not water but 80 proof raki. an unpleasant surprise for two nondrinkers after a long drive. There was no dishwasher, and no nice view. A fair bit of construction in this area. we would not go back.

The space was plenty large for pur group of 7. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was excellent. Located in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to walk to the Venetian Harbor. We walked to dinner every night and had loads of options to chose from nearby. Don't miss the amazing pastry shop nearby!

We stayed here for 3 nights. The apartment is very big and it really has everything your need. The owner is accurate in communication. We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine and local pastries.

There was some issue with the cleanliness of the glasses and plates. The owner was informed and took action with the cleaning service to avoid the same issue for the future guests.
