Había una vez un rincón escondido en el corazón de África, donde el tiempo se detenía y la naturaleza contaba historias al oído. Descubrirlo fue como abrir la puerta a un sueño. En medio de la Grietjie Private Nature Reserve, encontramos un refugio que parecía creado para quienes buscan algo más que un viaje: una experiencia que se siente en el alma. El apartamento entero era nuestro pequeño refugio, totalmente equipado para hacernos sentir cómodos y libres. Cada amanecer era un lienzo dorado, y cada atardecer, una caricia de luz sobre la sabana. Desde nuestra terraza escuchábamos el canto lejano de la fauna, como si la vida salvaje nos invitara a formar parte de su historia. Y aunque escuchar leones rugiendo cerca mientras preparas una barbacoa no sea para todos los públicos, para nosotros fue una experiencia increíble, de esas que te hacen sentir vivo y conectado con la naturaleza en su estado más puro. El equipo, siempre atento y cariñoso, nos hizo sentir que este secreto era solo nuestro, y que volveríamos una y otra vez para revivirlo. Si alguna vez soñaste con vivir tu propia versión de Memorias de África, este es el lugar. Pero cuidado: cuando lo descubras, querrás guardarlo como tu tesoro más preciado.

No tuvimos suerte con el tiempo y no pudimos usar la piscina. La comodidad de la cama no terminó de encantarnos

We zaten middenin het game reserve waar alle dieren (inclusief de big 5) rond liepen. De olifanten en giraffen kwamen bij het huis op bezoek. Safari vanuit het zwembad. Ze regelen ook georganiseerde gamedrives voor je.

Je hebt er weinig privacy. Aan het voordeel dat ze voor je komen opruimen, afwas doen etc zit het nadeel dat er veel personeel rondloopt die opeens in het huis zijn. Ik denk dat het meer een probleem is wanneer je met z'n tweeën bent dan wanneer je met 8 man bent, waar het huis geschikt voor is.

Prachtige locatie in Grietjie en een complete woning waar echt alles wat je nodig hebt aanwezig is en zelfs meer dan dat. Supervriendelijke hosts die alles doen om het je naar je zin te maken. Vanaf het terras prachtig uitzicht en het zwembad maakt het helemaal af. Mooi ook om met je gezin of familie te verblijven want er is voldoende ruimte! Gamedrives waren ook prima geregeld en met goede gids.

Niets

We all felt that this was one of the best places we have stayed in South Africa. The hosts Rika and Frik were absolutely fantastic and we really felt sad to leave. Nothing was an issue and the additional personal touches were truly appreciated. The rest of the staff were superb. As birders we were blown away by the sheer numbers of birds within the gardens and surrounding area. We can’t wait to book for another visit.

Leaving

What wonderful hospitality we experienced! The house is large, clean, and fully equipped, and the view is breathtaking. We enjoyed watching all the wildlife that passed by our terrace and the water pool next to the house including a thirsty elephant and roaring lions at night. Thanks to Rika and her husband, and to the owner, Mr. Venter, for the unforgettable experience, including boeren braai and homemade cake. We definitely hope to return!

Het uitzicht was geweldig. Vanuit het terras hebben we olifanten en vele andere dieren gezien. De gastvrouw en gastheer waren ontzettend aardige mensen die enorm hun best deden om ons een leuke vakantie te bezorgen. De bushwalk en de gamedrive waren een aanrader.

Helemaal niets kon beter, het was perfect.

Everything - Rika and Frik's hospitality was above al expectations. They looked after us as if we were family , The lodge were cleaned every day , on the outside surroundings of the lodge they had other staff ( more than friendly and helpful ) who cleaned everyday . Luxury braais , one outside in the boma with a fire pit , and one undercover , perfect to sit around the fire at night and listen to the roars of the lions , and the hyena's . the Wi-Fi was excellent , I even sit and do work everyday and overlooked the amazing scenery . Thank you Rika and Frik , we will DEFENETLY see you again. Keep it up

Everything was really beautiful. Well appointed. Being in the reserve was super cool. Elephants outside the fence during the day and Lions chatting in the night. Rika and her husband were perfect hosts, very welcoming and helpful they went out of their way to make sure our stay was relaxing and comfortable.

Nothing it was great!

Hosts were fantastic and very helpful. Meeting Rhino's at the watering hole before we had even checked into the property was amazing. Property is large enough for a large family gathering and the layout with private rooms was good.

Internet signal did not extend the whole of the house, but a minor inconvenience considering why we were there - to experience the bush and the Big 5
