Phomola Manor Holiday Home

The location was good on the dried river bed. Plenty of animals used it to get to the watering hole. You can just relax in the pool and watch the animals. The was well equipped. The host was friendly and made sure we enjoyed our stay.

Our family had a great stay and can really reccomend this house. It is in Grietjie which is a small reserve boardering on kruger. The house does have a fence around it but it is in a big 5 reserve allowing for game viewing from the nice pool and deck area which overlooks a dry riverbed. We relly loved the outside pool area and spent quite a lot of time there. To go on drives (safari) you need to hire a ranger (to take you on drives in Griekie) or you need to drive c.30 minites to the gate of Kruger national park. The hosts stay on the back of the property and where very attentive and hospitable. They arranged for the drives for us, met us at the gate for check in and Rika even made us some amazing home made Vetkoek. The rooms all had AC which was great in peak summer and is a nice place to decompress in the bush.

Phomola Manor is an oasis in Greater Kruger with a stunning garden of succulents greeting you as you approach the house. The property is frequented by a spectacular range of birds from iridescent sun birds to a number of owls spotted from the comfort of the garden during our stay. Lindie is a fabulous host who has gone to great effort to furnish the manor with everything we could possibly need for and more. She kindly arranged a wonderful meal on our first night on request. We had some wonderful game drives in Grietjie with very experienced and knowledgeable guides organised by Lindie. We also did a day trip into Kruger which was very easy to do. The highlight during our stay was going on a bush walk with Eugene. His infectious enthusiasm and abundant knowledge were so informative. Approaching a pride of lions on foot and a safe close encounter with elephants got our hearts beating and created life long memories.

The host,Lindie was amazing,always willing to sort out issues whenever she could and always checking in to see if we are satisfied. The pool was nice. she has all the kitchen utensils you could think of. always checking up on us. the place is spacious with a lot of sitting areas.

The patio is nice but dark in the evening.The 2 bedrooms sliding doors did not have curtains and a plan needed to be made to sort that out temporarily.

The view is beautiful and nature is on your doorstep in every sense. It is well equipped for self catering and everything is clean and tidy.
