Roseveldt

The house was all and more than i expected. The rooms were neat and comfortable. All rooms were spacious and fitted to all our needs.

The extra bed was much appreciated, but too hard for comfort. There was everything accept an iron which would have been appreciated.

Paternoster was a beautiful location!!

We were initially drawn to Roseveldt by the appealing photos and the promise of a comfortable stay for our family. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we found that the property did not match our expectations. The photos appeared to be misleading, and the overall condition of the property was not as anticipated. On our first night, we encountered an issue with the security alarm repeatedly going off. When we reached out to Paternoster Property Rentals, we were advised to simply turn it off, which we eventually managed to do ourselves. Additionally, the property's rules book suggested keeping the alarm on at all times and all windows locked, however there was no ventilation or fans available, making the heat during our two-night stay uncomfortable. We also found the property’s rules to be rather strict, which limited our ability to fully relax and enjoy our time there. We had hoped for a peaceful family holiday, but the restrictions made it difficult to feel at ease or entertain at the property. While Roseveldt does look beautiful in the advertising photos, unfortunately, our experience did not align with our expectations, and we feel it may not be the best fit for families seeking a more relaxed and enjoyable stay.

The location of the property is definitely its biggest draw card. It is located in the row behind the beach front which makes it somewhat sheltered from the wind. When seated on the patio one can see the ocean through the gap in the two houses in the front row. The walkway to the beach is a minute’s walk away and “Die Voorstrand” restaurant is also a few minutes’ walk away. The neighbourhood is quaint and quiet with visitors mostly over weekend when it can get a bit noisier. The house itself is nicely appointed and the 2 main bedrooms and bathrooms are generous. There is a small third bedroom with a single bed. Beds are comfy and blankets are provided for cold nights. The kitchen is nicely laid out and has a great gas stove and oven. The cutlery and crockery is a bit minimalist but you get by with what’s provided. The lockable garage is big enough to fit a car and a trailer.

There could be more crockery and kitchen tools as well as dish cloths. At the time of booking it stated that there was a washing machine in the unit but there isn’t.

The house was at the right place.

I would have scored it a perfect 10, but there were faulty lights, chipped cups. A light at the garage area will be perfect.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

The neighbour's were noisy - building opposite, party with loud singing 2 houses down on Sunday afternoon. Constant harassment from people walking down the road either selling mussels or begging for food. There were no braai tongs, rusty & dirty braai grids. The bathroom lights did not work.
