Quaint and gorgeous - after three months at a summer camp, it was luxury!

I enjoyed all the history on the walls and the room was nice.

Getting in was a little weird with all the hoops I had to jump through but the staff answered their phones and were quick to assist. So that was good!

Charming building, the paid parking was incredibly convenient, and the location was perfect.

Hot plate in the room wasn't working. The platter in the microwave didn't spin. Asking about these issues got us no response.

The history of the property was what drew us to come here along with the unique decor of each room and throughout the building.

I had high hopes for this stay, but unfortunately from day 1 they started to go downhill. The check-in process was great and simple, but the room was clearly not thoroughly cleaned. Thick dust on the bench rails (where shoes go) as well as missing lightbulbs. While those may not seem like big deals, it tells me that attention to detail (like sanitizing silverware, cups, etc) may not have been done either. The biggest disappointment was the shower. You would be better off going outside during a rain storm with your soap. There is absolutely NO water pressure!!! Like none! Zero. Nada. You have to stand completely under the head to get the dribble coming down. And if you have long hair like me, say a prayer and walk down to the Target and buy some dry shampoo for the rest of your trip. I will also mention that when I booked this place it was pretty early because our company was having a convention. Many of us booked here during the same time so we could all be in the same place. Well the host decided to last minute cancel our friends room (even after giving them a code to a room for check in). When they walked in on people who were already staying in that room, things got messy. The host was very sketchy, booking.com was able to see how the host handled it and felt that because we booked so early and had great rates, the host decided to keep the guest who paid more for the room. Our friends were able to get another hotel room, but the shadiness of it all left a very sour taste in my mouth. So just beware when you book that it could be you next time.
