On a eu très chaud et la rue était bruyante à cause du festival mais pas de bruit de voiture et bonne isolation avec l'appartement du dessous

Sotavento Guest House is ideally located in the city centre of Porto Santo, right in front of the medical centre and within walking distance of restaurants, supermarkets, and the beach — the location couldn’t be better. The apartment was very spacious, featuring three bedrooms and an open-plan living area connected to the kitchen. It had everything we needed, including a lovely terrace with chairs and a table where we could relax. The master bedroom had its own private bathroom and a large TV, which was a nice touch. We only stayed for one night, but overall it was a good experience — apart from an issue that occurred in one of the bedrooms, which was a bit unfortunate.

During the night, my younger daughter woke up to find ants with wings in her bed. She moved to the second single bed in the room, but the ants appeared there as well. We tried to find out where they were coming from but couldn’t figure it out. We understand this may not be the fault of the guest house, but we strongly recommend checking that room, as it’s very unpleasant — especially for children — to sleep with ants in the bed. Apart from that, the apartment and its location were great, and with that issue resolved, it would be a perfect place to stay in Porto Santo.

A beautiful, spacious, and tasteful place with a good view. The apartment is very cozy, and the kitchen is equipped with everything necessary. Next to it, there is a nice café with freshly baked bread and pastries. Nearby, there are two supermarkets, enough to eat well. The beach is just a few steps away, and from the rooftop terrace, you can see if the ferry is in the harbor. We were there in the off-season, enjoyed a great walk along the long beach to the end of the island, had delicious lunch, and came back. During our stay, the weather was bad - very strong winds, and we are endlessly grateful to the host that we could stay in the apartment until the evening (until the ferry departure time) on the day we left without any extra charge.

The dishwasher was not working, but it's not critical.

I would love to give this place a 10 and I would but...despite the fact that I had paid for a day I couldn't use because our flight was canceled (which the host was completely unwilling to accommodate despite months of advance notice), and the fact that I had sent multiple messages and called up to arrival, the host couldn't be bothered to meet us at the property as indicated on the listing or even send us the key code to get in before we arrived and we were left standing on the street calling Booking.com; I would have been happy to get a different apartment but they managed to resolve it. Of course when it was time to go there was absolutely no communication and they just showed up at 11am and asked us to leave, our boat was at 1230 so a little accommodation would have been nice. Such rude behavior doesn't deserve reward, if all you care about is taking our money at least pretend otherwise! Other than that the street can be a bit loud and it is quite central so the local festival can also be loud but despite it all i would have given it a 10 if not for the rude checkout on top of everything else.

Should be a 10 but things let it down. Staff great and very helpful let us check in early. Great location new supermarket next door, beach across road. And unlike some other reviews we found it very quiet. Apart from the items listed below, the kitchen equipment was excellent and the decor is really nice.

The dishwasher is broken and needs replacing. The oven thermostat doesn’t appear to work and it’s very dated As mentioned by others wooden patio loungers are broken, in my opinion dangerous. Such a shame, deserves a 10.
