Lounge a bit dated and uninviting

Bed comfortable; quiet location

Very dark entrance in car park and walk to accommodation; no soft chair; no wardrobe; difficult to see where staying; potentially 4 bedrooms sharing bathroom; heating off; no bath, just shower

No heat, no hot water, no apology, no compensation whatsoever and no ability to go anywhere because taxis were not willing to drive out that far. No staff were allowed to Drive us into town 10 miles away.

The room and bed were comfortable, I had the whole kitchen to myself for breakfast. I had cottage number 2 which I believe has 5 rooms.

I arrived at 8pm and the place was absolutely EMPTY. I never received the email with the code to get in. THEY SEND IT THROUGH MESSAGES ON BOOKING.COM or on the app, but how was I supposed to know that? I spent an hour in the cold trying to call and get through to someone. Thankfully the owner came home and helped me. But, it was such a daunting experience. When you sleep, it feels like you are the only person in the world. I'm sure this is a lovely place during the day, but it is NOT GOOD FOR PEOPLE COMING AT NIGHT FROM STANSTEAD.

Nice tinder-frame building an the grounds of a timber-frame manor. Very reasonable price. Very quiet. Adjacent to an interesting country church.

Almost stood in front of closed doors, as I have no access to my emails on travels to receive the door code. Luckily someone was available who knew how to.

Absolutely gorgeous place Breakfast provided in the cottage which was so nice especially as we had our children with us
