Stay at Luna on Ridge Ave

It was clean and spacious, and comfortable for family stay.

Someone knocked on the door early in the morning (7:00 am) and smoked on the landing. The WiFi did not work during the late evening. The apartment had some residual old smell from smoking on the staircase (and perhaps inside). We had a hard time finding street parking and ended up parking a mile away

Super easy to get checked in and very convenient! I was there to go to a show at the Met and it was truly SO wildly easy to get back and forth. The restaurants around the area were also freaking delicious and open late (I highly recommend the Masala restaurant nearby). It was decorated really cute and was completely functional, perfect for three nights!

The unit is on the first floor, and I could very clearly hear people walking up and down the stairs at almost all hours of the night, which makes me think that reversely you would have very little sound privacy. I hope everyone enjoyed listening to me crying to my favorite kdrama at 2am. 😁 Also, there is no deadbolt on the door, and no extra locking components for the unit. There isn’t even a lock on the handle of the door that you can see, it just locks automatically. In theory this is adequate, but as a solo female traveler I would have really appreciated some kind of extra lock, a deadbolt or a chain, especially bc you could so clearly hear people walking around outside, sometimes it didn’t feel very secure (even if it was fine). Im not really an anxious female traveler so I didn’t mind too much, but if you are, it might be worth it to get one of the other rooms or look elsewhere. Also I think yall were out of paper towels, but that’s minor.

Location was good and the check-in process was very easy.

The unit obviously had not been deep cleaned in a while. The counters were sticky, dishes were grimy, and floors were dirty. We were also not given any hand towels. When I asked the host if we could have some, they responded that it was not an option and they don't provide them. When expressed my disappointment and asked if they could instead bring extra bath towels, they read my message and did not respond. I paid well over $300 for the first night, and I feel like I did not receive an experience that was reflective of that price.

What I liked about the property was that it was very spacious and clean. It had a dishwasher and a washer and dryer, which was very convenient. I also liked how big the rooms were as well as the closets. I love the big windows and the fact that you can see Everything clear as day.

What I didn’t like about the property was that it was very cold in one of the rooms. The heater took too long to come on and was able to only feel the heat when I turned it up to 85°. I didn’t like that the shower floor creeked while taking a shower. I didn’t like that there were no extra sheets or comforters. There were no hand towels in the bathroom after washing your hands. Anytime I would heat up food and place it on the table. The plate would get stuck and I would have the wipe the table down. There were no actual forks or spoons. No can opener. One of the racks to hold the hand towels on was broken. One of the beds were very squeaky and I honestly don’t think those were queen size beds. Also, there were no broom or dust pan or a mop and bucket. There should also be some type of lamps in the living room like there are in the bedroom because once the lights are off in the kitchen and the living room, it’s too dark. There were no potholders or dish rags to wipe the counters with or the table. Lastly, the showerhead should be able to move up and down and left and right went in the shower, especially for people who are tall.
