Carriage Lodge - Stunning Apartment with parking

VERY Dangerous, very high steps to access property from designated parking space in pitch darkness with light sensor only working for 3-4 seconds. Dripping tap that leaked all over the bathroom floor. Slow trickle of water for shower which was either tepid, freezing cold or scalding hot! Very, very small living area, really deceiving in photos. Toilet directly through a door off the kitchen. Really low bed No hanging space or drawers to put clothing - had to ‘literally’ live out of suitcase.

No WIFI, unfortunately, I could not log on with either my phone or laptop. It may be just a one-off, but I need to work on the laptop when I stay. Also very poor to no phone signal with Tesco O2 network :(

The location was excellent for our trip, lots of secure car parking, easy access. The property is maintained to a very high standard. Everything we needed was there & everything worked ok. The bed is very high quality & very comfortable.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

The concept is great, I think it just needs to be a little cleaned up.

The property was quite difficult to find, I'd recommend a map pin, as the instructions didn't make too much sense. The Wifi didn't work, I ended up trying to use my data, it was that bad. I understand it's a small village, but it was really hard to even stay on the wifi! The place wasn't very clean; there were a few rogue slugs & spiders (which I cleaned instead of taking a photo), as well as lots of hair and possible food on the floor. I tried to contact them a few times (once to find the place, but the signal wasn't great), and another time to ask about the stove, but I received no reply either time. On my first evening, around 11pm, a little boy walked into the place, which was very surprising! He was apologetic, but it was clear that there had been a miscommunication on the family's part. They only offered one towel, and honestly, it was the most crispy old towel; it was disappointing. The stove top didn't work, I tried to reach out - but it was quite late into my booking - and no reply. So I didn't get to cook. The remote for the light wasn't working in the living room, and there were big stains on the Sofa which I didn't want to sit on. I'm a little disappointed at the price point for this place. I picked this mainly so that I could cook, but that wasn't an option as it wasn't working.

The unit was very clean and tidy and in a quiet location, with the added bonus of a private parking space, a few minutes walk took us to The Wateringbury (where we were able to get a cooked breakfast before coming home) and just under 15 mins from the train station, all in all ideal to use as a base for a couple of nights whilst we were visiting family.

The lights for both the living room & bedroom were on the same switch and very bright only a minor niggle but maybe separate switches with a dimmer would be better and the settee was a bit uncomfortable but again only a minor niggle.
