Carriage Lodge - Stunning Apartment with parking

Everything was spot on. We only stayed 1 night, but it was well equipped and very quiet.

A guide as to where to locate the light switches would have been helpful !

Location was great for our needs. Some outside space was nice to sit and relax.

Some helpful criticism. There was no room for any clothes in the bedroom, there was a rack but too high and coming off the wall. Only one bedside cabinet with light so had to use our cool box and the light out of the lounge. A small coffee table would have been useful in the lounge.

First and foremost the Welcoming Hosts - they were so helpful. Tea bags, coffee and sugar only provided in this apartment in respect of food stuffs, which I was surprised to find, as I understood nothing was going to be provided in that respect, the property being self-catering. The Kitchen facilities were adequate for our needs. As it was hot we only had salad type light meals and had most main meals out. I am not a lover of microwave food, but was happy to note that there was also an induction hob.

Whilst I was happy not to actually watch TV, the friend with me, from overseas, was not happy that the TV did not function well. Our Host tried his very best to get it to work for us, but it is a SMART TV and the internet quality, could sadly let this property down. PLEASE NOTE : I hasten to add this is NOT the fault of the Host, but the area in which the property sits, where connections can be hit and miss. Even our SMART phones did not function well, although I have since found that mine has developed a fault, which could have contributed to the reception I was getting! Another thing was I felt there was a waste of electricity the way the lighting was set-up. The ceiling lights for the kitchen/seating area are on the same switch as for the bedroom. This means if all Guests are together in the Kitchen/seating area and need the ceiling light on, the ceiling light in the bedroom is also on, whether or not the door between the two is open or shut. Both areas do have a wall socket lamp, which in the bedroom is adequate, but not so in the kitchen/seating area I found, as that light changes colour and is in the corner of the room, away from the kitchen area. Note : that wall socket light is adequate if you are using the sofa bed and have gone to bed to read or watch TV.

Lovely hosts. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Excellent value.

Only slight negative was that the sofa bed was a bit cramped and not that comfortable. It’s perfect if you only need the double bed which was very comfortable.

Perfect for a short stay for 2. Easy to find with the directions given. Lovely apartment with a big shower. Tea coffee, sugar and milk provided. Easy parking and access.
