Poplar Lodge Log Caravan

What's not to like. A friendly welcome , a beautiful and picturesque/ quiet location in an immaculately clean and tidy lodge. Nothing you don't need and everything you could. A spot of fishing on the doorstep, literally, or just sit in the well managed garden round the lodge. If you want to see the local attractions its a 5 min drive to coningsby and the BBMF or watch the typhoons or 15 mins to the Aviation centre. Absolutely amazing and value for money.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming after showing us round Fiona said that she would leave us be and if we needed anything just to call her on the number provided.The setting is absolutely perfect for a really nice peaceful break away, it is sat right at the side of the river Bain so there's plenty of wildlife to see, I were more interested in the fish in the river than anything else which made me start thinking of my next stay with it having its own peg on the river for fishing, the Mrs had already worked it out too 🤣 to which she said I'd be like a pig in muck 🤣. Can't wait to to book next visit.

The only thing I didn't like was the road to and from Horncastle part of it were narrow and had massive potholes at both sides of the road and I were nearly written off by a lunatic driver going about 70mph and forced me to swerve into one of the massive craters to avoid him hitting me.

Really friendly and accommodating hosts who were looking out for me when I arrived. They opened the 5 bar gate allowing me to park directly in front of the lodge. They have a really friendly cat that seemed keen to show me around. The location was superb with the lodge standing on a generous plot right olongside a beautiful trout stream. It was fascinating sting to watch the trout rising to take flies from the surface. The situation was perfect for a quiet relaxing break, with a pub a short walk along the road. There is plenty of room for a family in the lodge, with all the basic items that you require for a self catering break. I am keen to return there as soon as I can!

Very dated caravan, very cold as only a fan heater and a couple of oil filled heaters in bedrooms, very basic and couldn't say it was comfortable for a stay longer than a couple of nights

Separate to the rest of the site. Quiet apart from the jets ! Good location. Large for a caravan. Very helpful when we didn’t understand how the gas oven worked.

Second bedroom had restricted space so all belongings were moved around the lounge area. Only 3 mugs.

Location excellent the owners 😀 very welcoming accommodation good.
