Etxaide - Basque Stay

Worst property we have stayed in since joining Booking.com many many years ago. Property was literally a building site - scaffolding on the balcony with builders working on the balcony! We had no knowledge of this or we would not have booked. Should not have been let out. The worst experience we have ever had for accommodation - dust, rubble everywhere snd no option to even open a window let alone use balcony! If we opened a curtain sitting in bed the builders would have a close up view! No privacy. We asked to be moved as it is managed by a property company but they refused and were incredibly unhelpful and unapologetic. Other minor things - bathroom door didn’t open or close properly, kettle was broken, and there was nothing to make a self catering stay more comfortable such as salt, pepper etc. Felt very very basic and uncared for, just awful. Note you have to collect keys from a lock box halfway across town which was a long walk with luggage.

The apartment was big and comfortable and was complete in terms of facilities. The place was also quite centrally located, with the shopping area just around the corner. I liked the clean, white look of the apartment.

The bathroom was really too small and had no provision to hang towels, clothes, etc. My daughter had to walk quite a distance to get the keys to the apartment, total 30 minutes to and back to the apartment. They should really make it more convenient for people to get the keys, perhaps have someone meet us.

Fantastic location, the apartment was modern and spotless with everything that you would need.

The bathroom whilst functional is very compact

The location was good. It was about a 20min walk to the Old City but you walk through the City which is nice. The apartment is neat & tidy. A big kitchen and 2 good sized bedrooms with open plan cupboards to hang up your clothes.

Before you get to the apartment you need collect the apartment keys from the offices at a different location. There is a sort drop box in which you punch in the code and then the keys drop out. It is a 10min walk to the apartment from this point. A downside is that they are working on the building so there is scaffolding and you cannot open the blinds as all you see is scaffolding which does not allow much light in. The bathroom is small and so is the shower. If you are a large person this will be difficult to manage. There is no racks to hang up your towels in the bathroom. A cabinet would be nice touch as then you can put your toiletries away. There is no actual no on the apartment building, we had to ask someone but it was all good at the end.

Great location, apartment was good size and fairly modern

Bathroom very small and dated, there was foul smells coming from the sink which was like sewerage most of our stay - also building works going on next door which we were not made aware of.

La ubicación es espectacular, para la semana del festival de cine es perfecta. El apartamento es amplio y las camas son muy cómodas.

- La recogida de llaves es en otro sitio y es una máquina expendedora. - La cama doble son dos camas con una sábana bajera. - La puerta del baño no abre bien y el baño es pequeño. - No hay ni un sitio para colgar nada. En una ciudad donde llueve se necesita, pero más sangrante es que el baño no tenga ni para colgar una toalla de mano (recuerdo que es un alojamiento donde caben cuatro personas). - Lo más sangrante, el precio. Altísimo. Por ese precio debería tener mejores servicios. Ni una servilleta nos dejaron.
