Monterosso al Mare 20

The apartment is very cosy but well equipped and with a comfortable pull down bed. Location is right in the heart of the village and a short walk to the beach. The host was really helpful with directions/information.

Check in is at 4pm which we found a bit late.

Close to town centre and not many steps. Small but efficient.

Could have done with extra towels as nothing dried quickly due to building shade.

We were surprised & very disappointed with this property. Many things were incredibly overstated & incorrect in the description on Booking.com. Meaningful photos of the property were buried amongst a lot of photos of Monterosso, so it was easy to miss the real detail. The worst aspect is the small size. It has a pull-down bed. When the bed is down, you can't open the fridge properly & there is barely any leg room to move around the bed. Lifting the bed would be a struggle for some people - my estimate is that at a certain point, you need to be able to lift 10kg (fortunately, we are fit and do not have to nurse shoulder injuries). The description states it has a terrace with city views - nothing to be seen at all unless you look over a wall. The neighbour has also left junk in the alleyway - the manager is aware of this and apologised, but this is another omission in the property photos. We stayed 2 nights, but the property was not serviced daily. Booking.com listing stated Check out was from 11am - 12pm, but the manager sent a message that checkout was from 8am - 10am. Oh yes, it also stated there was a washing machine - of course, there wasn't any washing machine!

The location was great to be able to explore the town. The host provided in depth information about how to access the property, parking, where to visit, and local amenities. The property was quite clean.

The listing made it appear larger than reality, the space was quite small and had a drop down Murphy wall bed. There is one window that does not allow loads of natural light. The soundproofing between floors was not great as we could hear the person above multiple times throughout the night. It would be best marketed towards a single or young couple travelling light and is not suitable for those travelling with a family or with suitcases.

The location, although difficult to find despite being given directions, was the only thing we liked about this host and studio.

We were told that the keys to the studio would be in a security lock outside the door but they were left in the door outside the property when we arrived. There was no one available to meet us and someone ( a neighbour) came about an hour later who didn't seem that too interested in our worries about security. This is a remotely hosted studio and they send you loads of confusing messages beforehand. It does not have a personalised service and te studio is incredibly small and uncomfortable.

Location was great as well as quiet and Roberta was lovely

Air conditioning was really loud but necessary because the unit doesn’t catch any breeze. Bed folded down out of the wall but was comfortable but the tiny size of the room made in awkward to do anything especially if the bed was down

Very close to the shops and restaurants and beach. Great recommendations from Claudio for restaurants and activities. Really good value.

Water heater only worked for one shower. But the weather was hot,so cold showers were welcome. Unit very small and cramped when bed is folded out.
