Old School Apartment 2 Ground Floor

Excellent location, near to the abbey gardens, with a parking space. Beds were lovely and comfy, nice outdoor space and kitchen. Very clean.

The floorboards and doors were squeaky, the outside area could have done with a good sweep, not very inviting to seat there, lots of dead leaves, table and chairs not clean. The shower temperature wouldn't adjust and it was very hot, couldn't stand under it.

We liked that it was close to the cathedral, as we were singing there for the weekend, a pleasant 10 minute stroll through the abbey gardens. We enjoyed the kitchen area leading out to the courtyard and made good use of that. The lounge was a nice space also.

The traffic noise was noticeable. The shower regulator was tricky and ran too hot on the whole. The cleanliness was patchy, beds and bathroom were fine, kitchen rug needed a good hoover. I know it says in the welcome instructions to take the TV setup etc as is however, there wasn't a fire stick and it was not possible to connect to the wifi services such as Netflix and YouTube via the box provided.

Location and parking were excellent. The location is right by the Abbey gardens and a few minutes walk from the centre. There is a pub called The Fox close by too. The parking was very good, right next to the apartment with access through a porched front door or via garden gate to the kitchen. The apartment was nice. The bedding was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Comfy lounge and kitchen. The place was warm, well heated and overall comfortable. The outside area was nice. We sat outside eating breakfast. There is road noise, but it did not affect our sleep.. The kitchen is lovely, plenty of space, and it leads to a small patio area with chairs and a table. The apartment is good, it is lovely, but it really needs some tlc.

The bathroom needs attention. It was dirty, and the toilet had nasty marks in the bowl plus also grime build up. I had to clean it before use as well as the taps and soap on the basin. This bathroom needs a deep clean. There is a key to the back door by the kitchen cupboard on a hook, and to reach it, you see nothing but cobwebs. Although we loved the kitchen, there was only one dessert spoon, and we had to buy some for breakfast cereal. The frying pans were no good, one burnt and unusable, and the other had a very loose handle. There was a broken glass in the cupboard. The wood plank flooring creaked really badly when you walked on it, and the place as a whole was looking tired. The apartment above has very creaky floors, and you can hear every movement. Note: The building is old and beautiful, so this is to be expected within reason. The double bedroom has very little space in it other than the bed! You can not walk easily around it and there isn't even room for a chair to put clothes on etc. For people with limited access, this is not your place. The apartment is good, it is lovely, but it really needs some tlc.

We've stayed in all the School House apartments now and they're all fabulous. We will be back! We particularly like the location and facilities.

Location very good. Close to town and an extremely good pub.

Lack of basic cutlery. Only had 2 spoons. No pizza cutter. Kitchen knives in block were unusable. Bathroom flooring needs replacing. The toilet brush holder was rusty. None of this impacted on our stay but wanted to highlight to owner. Also this property is on a busy road and was noisy. Had I done more research I may have picked up on this and chosen an alternative property.
